Role
Who you are
- Have at least 1 year of experience in debt collection and recoveries in a retail bank, fintech or debt collection agency
- Truly care and understand that chatting with our members comes first. We’re a member-first company and our members truly matter
- Are comfortable working unsociable hours as we work across 4 shift patterns:
- 7am - 4pm
- 9am - 6pm
- 1pm - 10pm
- 10pm - 7am (emergency on-call shift)
- Flexibility is highly important in this role with the understanding that as a small team that’s growing, you’re expected to work at least 2 weekends a month
- Have an “I’ll try, before escalating” mindset. We want someone who’ll type their thoughts up when they’re tackling a difficult query from a member as opposed to asking immediately for help without trying
What the job involves
- Showcasing empathy to customers experiencing difficulties or going through a change in circumstances, by understanding their needs and offering sustainable solutions that are tailored to their individual situations helping them to avoid, minimise or get out of arrears
- Working in line with company processes, ensuring that you are treating customers fairly, adhering to FCA regulations and demonstrating company beliefs of doing the right thing, respect for people and being accountable
- Delivering weekly and monthly updates to the team on collections reporting
- Dealing with other chat queries outside of billing and collections and working with the team to refine processes
- Retrieving data insights and share your findings with either the Growth or Member Value squad with proposed solutions to help influence the product roadmap

- Stage 3: Face-to-face interview (2 hours)
- We’ll run through two 60-minute interviews to learn more about how you work. This will also be a great opportunity for you to meet the rest of the team! Interviews will be structured as follows:
- Experience interview: We’ll deep dive into your CV and talk about your past experiences
- Values interview: We want to learn more about how you work - we’ll ask you questions related to our principles (Our DNA)
