Who you are

AWS cloud experience
Working in live production systems
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) and their workflows
Terraform/Terragrunt experience
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools

What the job involves

Our engineering team is growing! We’re looking for passionate individual interns to join us to gain exposure to the software development cycle at a very exciting high-growth startup
Writing Terraform to create easily deployable and repeatable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Assist in building and maintaining a reliable and scalable infrastructure using modern DevOps practices
Contribute to the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes
Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting production systems to ensure high availability and performance
Collaborate with other developers and teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software applications
Participating and practicing Scrum and Agile methodologies and ceremonies
Continuous discussions with your fellow team members to keep up-to-date with the current business goals and projects

Live-streamed shopping has long been popular in China. In 2020, the first 30 minutes of Alibaba’s Singles’ Day presale's campaign on Taobao Live generated an impressive $7.5B in total transaction value. Firework is helping to bring these kinds of video-based eCommerce experiences to a Western audience with a smart commercial strategy.

Originally launched as a standalone social platform featuring swipe-able web stories, Firework made a strategic shift towards a more streamlined B2B model. It now provides services to partners by granting them access to its video technology infrastructure, enabling them to effortlessly launch diverse and interactive shippable videos on their respective websites. The outcome of this pivot has paid off, with Firework emerging as the leading global platform of its kind.

The real money in shoppable videos is ultimately live-streamed experiences, which are still not landing for American audiences. Despite this, Firework’s more complete offering, including the ability to directly collect consumer data and learn about a shopper’s behaviour, means that American brands are giving the startup business ahead of this anticipated cultural shift.
