Who you are

Minimum of 3 years of relevant software development experience
Understanding of basic web development concepts, such as RESTful APIs, HTTP protocol, and database management
Experience working across the stack delivering products that delight end-users
Experience working with Product Management and other partners such as Design

What the job involves

As an engineer reporting to the engineering manager for Lending, you will help build lending products that aim to improve the financial lives of our customers
You will take on some of our most challenging technical problems scaling our novel lending product
We are at the start of high-growth phase and joining at this stage, you will have a large impact on the cultural and technical foundation of Lending at Remitly
Build for scale : Design and implement solutions for ambiguous and complex problems using full stack technologies ( React,GraphQL, Java/Kotlin) that operate at scale
Design: Participate in the brainstorming, technical design, and grooming of the next generation of Lending with a data-driven and customer-centric viewpoint
Craft with pride: Focus on overall product quality and build
Collaborate: You will work with product managers, data scientists and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality software solutions

Since its inception in 2011 Remitly has focussed on helping immigrants to send money across the world faster, cheaper and easier. The company has grown exponentially since then and now operates across multiple continents. Remitly put down most of its success on putting its customers first.

The emergence of digital banks with low transaction fees cross-country has increased competition in a space where Remitly was dominant for many years. The company must continue to innovate its product to ensure it is the go-to place for these types of payments.

However, Remitly continues to partner with exciting companies and improve their service for loyal customers. The company is setting its sights beyond its core remittance service, such as through the recent introduction of Passbook, an app that allows customers to access digital banking through a partner bank.
