Who you are

  • You have graduated from a Licence and/or Master's degree
  • You have 6-8 years of experience
  • You have proven experience in a cross-functional role and in-depth knowledge regarding payment processing
  • You have excellent communication & analytical skills (SQL, BigQuery, Tableau, etc)
  • You have a strong sense of confidentiality and integrity
  • You speak English fluently. French is a plus

  • In order to support its accelerated growth, Back Market is looking for a Senior Payment Manager to join its fast-paced and dynamic Financial team in Paris
  • As Senior Payment Manager, you will spearhead the strategic oversight of payment operations related to our marketplace activity ("pay-in payments"), consumer payment experience, and payment methods within our marketplace
  • This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of payment ecosystems related to marketplaces, orchestration strategies, and cost optimization
  • Reporting to our Global Payment Senior Lead Manager, you will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the financial integrity and security of our marketplace
  • Refine the multi-payment service provider (PSP) strategy across all Back Market regions to optimize performance
  • Strengthen our orchestration strategy to maximize the utilization of our payment infrastructure and elevate operational efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with product and technology payment teams to synchronize actions and devise comprehensive orchestration roadmaps for future advancements
  • Lead the development and implementation of a robust cost monitoring program aimed at enhancing cost awareness and visibility within the organization
  • Utilize the diverse multi-payment service provider (PSP) infrastructure and an array of pricing models to optimize and refine the cost analysis process
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to establish comprehensive strategies that effectively monitor and manage costs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Generate actionable insights through in-depth analysis, enabling informed decision-making and cost-saving opportunities across the business
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the cost monitoring program to adapt to evolving industry standards and business requirements, ensuring its efficiency and relevance
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in payment operations. Utilize advanced analytical tools such as BigQuery to extract and interpret data, supporting strategic decisions
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key payment metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance data-driven decision-making and continuously improve analytical capabilities
  • Oversee all aspects of our payment partner relationships, serving as the primary liaison and ambassador for Back Market globally ensuring strong and enduring partnerships
  • Align and synchronize actions with payment partners, coordinating short and medium-term strategies to achieve mutual objectives and drive collaborative success and growth
  • Champion a proactive approach to relationship management, employing effective communication and negotiating contracts, capitalizing on synergies, and optimizing partnerships for sustained organizational growth
