Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools, or applied ML (e.g., NLP, Generative AI)
- In-depth experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Conversational AI
- Published research in the NLP field is highly desirable but not specifically required, indicating an ability to not only understand but also contribute to cutting-edge research
- Proven ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply cutting-edge research into tangible applications
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models
- You love tackling ambiguous technical problems and developing solutions to problems with significant impact
What the job involves
- The Core Conversations team empowers enterprise customers and developers on Replicant’s platform to help create delightful conversations that provide fast and effective resolutions to their clients through contact center automation
- We define and build the next generation of bot building paradigms for complex enterprise customer service and contact center automation scenarios
- As part of its Conversational AI R&D team, you will be part of a cross-functional group of engineers that are applying the latest research in Generative AI and NLP - including LLMs and other advancements in research into our core product lines
- As a Staff NLP Engineer, you will have access to various sets of LLM providers, as well as vast amounts of high-quality data that go into training and evaluating them
- You will be expected to lead the way in applying these models to transform our current approaches and creating groundbreaking new products that would have been impossible with the previous generation of technologies
- You’ll join a phenomenal team of hardworking engineers and will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities
- Leading the exploration and application of Large Language Models and Generative AI, venturing into new areas within these fields
- Translating the latest research into high-performing systems and models that can be practically applied to enhance user experiences
- Help set the team's strategic direction, cultivating an environment that encourages innovation and professional growth
- Actively engaging in all aspects of development, from ideation and experimentation to implementation and deployment
Our take
Whilst automation and AI are being applied to industries across the world, customers must still endure long waits and inconsistent service from telecommunication services. In addition to this, customer service agents must answer the same repetitive questions hundreds of times every day, which is both expensive and inefficient. Replicant uses neural networks to provide completely autonomous call center technology, that aims to provide intelligent and human-like alternatives to customer service agents.
Replicant's service understands context, accents, slang, and technical terms, providing far more intelligent results than simple answer-recognition phone services. Although various startups are taking steps towards reducing bottlenecks within customer service calls through autonomous chatbots, Replicant stands out by focusing on providing realistic and engaging conversation through neural networks, providing a convincing replacement that reduces costs and frustrations within call centers of any type.
Replicant has secured a good amount of funding to fuel its to ambitions to expand research and development, improving its conversations, and launch new automated channels. The company also plans to increase headcount across a range of teams, onboard new customers, and launch professional development programs for its employees.
