Who you are
- You are a highly motivated and inspiring business development leader with a driven focus on the customer with the capability to improve commercial outputs and growth
- You are passionate about collectible card games and an effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels and lead by influencing by advocating for the best customer experience
- You have delivered world class Go-to-Market strategies, with experience in developing and launching new solutions to engage and activate partners and customers
- 5+ years of experience leading business development for an ecommerce or consumer products company or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with history of leading with influence
- Experience in identifying new ways to grow value delivered through partnerships
- Prior success in building and executing go-to-market plans in collaboration with strategic partners and cross-functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated capabilities building and leading partner marketing teams to drive pipeline growth, customer acquisition and brand awareness
- Experience in launching new products and features in an ecommerce or related environment
- Experience building and growing partnerships across varying partners including publishers, manufacturers, distributors, technology partners and more
- An entrepreneurial mindset, drive, and skills vital to build and scale a business
- You have a bias for action, take a creative approach to get things done, able to drive execution of big initiatives while navigating team member concerns
- Experience building, mentoring and developing people to support their growth
- Relationships and experience in collectible card game ecosystem is a plus
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Partnerships will be responsible for establishing and cultivating partnerships with publishers and manufacturers in the collectible card game industry
- With your leadership, we will grow the value exchanged between partners and TCGplayer through customized go-to-market programs crafted to build an outstanding experience for buyers and sellers
- You will work closely with cross-functional TCGplayer and Ebay teams including Senior Leadership, Marketing, Business Strategy & Operations, Business Development, Supply Chain, Product, and Customer Support
- You will also engage in market research to understand and communicate emerging trends to leadership and report on weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics to support overall company strategic priorities
- Set a clear strategic direction for partnerships with long-term and short-term goals and clear priorities aligned to business strategy
- Develop and manage day to day relationships with key strategic partners including publishers and manufacturers in the collectible card game industry
- Design programs to "wow" potential partners and ensure we are top of mind when they think about growth channels and partnership opportunities
- Grow volume and quality of interactions between customers and TCGplayer driven through partnerships; thereby also growing revenues from partnerships
- Collaborate with partners to develop unique experiences for buyers and sellers within the TCGplayer and eBay ecosystem
- Define the strategy and develop execution plans for how we collaborate with top partners at events
- Prioritize goals for the partnerships team to deliver against strategic priorities for the business
- Develop the criteria for selecting new publishers that get added to the TCGplayer catalog Represent TCGplayer as a business development leader with key knowledge and understanding of TCGplayers offerings and strategic priorities
- Implement best in class processes and tools to grow partnerships opportunities
- Collaborate with TCGplayer and Ebay’s Business Development, Marketing, Product and Operations teams to develop marketing programs and policies that generate value for all partners and customers
- Level up the team's organization and planning capabilities to effectively communicate across team members and partners ensuring alignment and success of progress
- Stay apprised of driven and partner initiatives that impact our business and require timely response
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages intelligent risk taking, innovation and creativity
