Who you are

3+ years of software development experience with proficiency in Typescript/NodeJS (80%), VueJS (20%). Confident in coding complex features, developing REST APIs, and writing various levels of tests (Unit, Contract, Integration, E2E)
Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and pub/sub patterns, including developing backend services and handling RDBMS and NoSQL databases at scale
Proficiency in Git and experience with containers, orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes), caching technologies (e.g., Fastly, Redis, Varnish), and cloud resources (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure)
Ability to identify and implement improvements in caching technologies and cloud operations, with certification in relevant cloud services considered a plus
Fast learner and detail oriented
Solution-oriented mindset and can-do attitude to overcome challenges
Team player with a high sense of accountability and ownership

What the job involves

SSENSE is looking for a Developer Level 3 to join our rapidly growing technology team
The Senior Developer will take complex features of the product roadmap, break them down into their required technical components, and develop them independently
They own at least one component of the SSENSE technical stack and holds accountability for its SLAs
The ideal candidate will actively contribute to knowledge dissemination within the organization, participate in the recruiting and onboarding of new employees, and mentor Junior Developers on the team
Product Delivery: Develop a deep understanding of the product roadmap, contribute to high-level estimations, and manage development sequences. Independently complete complex tasks, push code to production, and write efficient, testable, and reusable code following best practices and SSENSE standards
Ownership and Accountability: Ensure code quality with QA support, maintain performance, reliability, and scalability of technical components, and adhere to SLAs. Drive cross-squad initiatives and champion new processes or solutions
Knowledge Sharing and Coaching: Review Pull Requests to guide and upskill junior developers, actively contribute to SSENSE University for continuous learning, and assist in onboarding new developers
Architecture: Contribute to and challenge solution designs, explain technical decisions to junior developers, and support documentation efforts

The company’s driving vision is to be a “cultural protagonist”. That means collaborating with brands large and small, lavishly produced cultural events, and a now-iconic photography style for its catalogue.
