Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant accounting, commissions operations, or revenue accounting experience within a global high-tech or SaaS company
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606), revenue recognition principles, deferred contract costs, and SaaS industry practices – Must
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and a commissions platform such as CaptivateIQ (or similar: Spiff, Xactly, etc.) – Strong advantage
- Proven track record of optimizing and automating accounting processes and financial workflows
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, handle competing priorities, and maintain rigorous attention to detail
What the job involves
- Wiz is looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team
- This role will be responsible for administering and scaling our end-to-end global commissions accounting operations in compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP, while driving continuous process automation across commission and revenue workflows
- This role will prioritize sales compensation accounting as a primary focus while serving as an agile contributor to broader revenue accounting, period-end close, and system optimization initiatives
- Administer the end-to-end commissions accounting process, including monthly accruals, capitalization, amortization, and reporting in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP
- Drive automation and workflow improvements across global commissions and revenue accounting processes to improve speed, scalability, and precision
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales Operations, FP&A, and Revenue Accounting to ensure accurate and timely journal entries
- Assist in determining global revenue recognition under ASC 606, supporting period-end close processes for revenue and billing, and managing balance sheet reconciliations as bandwidth allows
- Support interim and annual audits by providing quantitative analysis and documentation for commissions and revenue matters while enforcing SOX compliance and internal controls
- Evaluate accounting guidance for new sales compensation plans, SPIFFs, plan design modifications, and adhoc revenue related matters
- Support special accounting projects and process improvement initiatives across the broader Finance organization as needed
