Who you are
- We’re looking for an experienced B2B product marketer who understands how to craft campaigns, messaging, and collateral that influences buyers along a software journey
- Have 3+ years of experience in product marketing; demand gen; lifecycle, email or digital marketing; product management, or user insights-related fields at a B2B tech company
- Have B2B marketing experience and understand what excellence looks like
- Are autonomous and comfortable in developing strategies on your own
- Are data-driven, curious, and comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Are a proactive communicator and are comfortable working in a hybrid environment
- Are a team player and a relationship builder, experienced with working cross-functionally
- Are passionate about consumer brands and retail
- Are fast-based and have a bias toward action
What the job involves
- You’ll be joining a small and nimble Marketing team of two, reporting directly to our Marketing Lead
- This means you’ll have the opportunity to jump across projects to what you find interesting and move the business forward
- In this role, you’ll get to tackle a diverse set of strategic and tactical challenges while making a tangible impact on Canal’s growth
- You’ll also have the opportunity to shape the culture of our growing Marketing and Go-to-Market teams
- As Canal’s sole PMM, you’ll take ownership of various projects impacting our Retailer and Supplier brand experience and driving movement across the funnel
- Help create and execute strategies to acquire and retain Retailer and Supplier customers
- Pitch and deliver on end-to-end marketing campaigns that drive excitement and engagement for our customers
- Partner with our Paid, Design, Sales, and Product teams to support cross-functional growth initiatives
- Support our Sales team with top-of-funnel generation, including in-person events, webinars, and high-value gated content
- Conduct market and user research to track sentiment about Canal and propose opportunities to further our brand
- Evolve Canal’s messaging and positioning to differentiate us in the market
- Manage product and feature launches, in partnership with Product
- Be a strong customer champion in influencer go-to-market and product strategies

- Intro to the role and your Experience: 30 minute interview with our Marketing Lead
- Understanding your Strengths: an “on-site” of sorts. This will be a series of 3-4 30-minute interviews with members of our Product, Sales, and GTM teams and one founder, with a focus on learning how your skillset and values fit into Canal’s culture
- Show us how you think: you’ll complete a short assignment that shows us how you approach marketing challenges
Our take
With the world spending more time on the internet, it's no surprise that more money is being spent online than ever before. The opportunity to find products has never been easier with social channels like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube being host to countless retail ads.
Despite the rise in eCommerce, buying products online can at times still be a difficult process and this is something Canal is solving for D2C brands. They are creating a "distributed digital economy" with a network of integrations across e-commerce platforms, and a webapp that connects consumer brands to the places that could sell their products.
Founded in 2021, the company has already received backing from top eCommerce and technology investors such as Forerunner, Andreessen Horowits as well as industry leaders from Shopify, Stripe, TikTok, and Facebook.
