Who you are

You have experience in JavaScript and Node.js / C++ /Java or any OO language
You have knowledge of major frontend frameworks
You have a university degree in a technical subject (Computer science, Mathematics or similar)
You have 4+ years of experience in software development
You have good English and communication skills
You have solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
You have experience with any SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
You have experience with API design and development

What the job involves

Designing and building Bolt's growing backend and frontend systems
Coding mostly in TypeScript (previous experience with Node.js / React / React-Native is not required, but always welcomed)
Paying attention to detail, proactively fixing upcoming bugs and solving technical challenges
Contributing ideas to our product development roadmap
Giving a hand to your fellow colleagues, participating in code reviews and architecture discussions

Bolt is another company in the competitive ride-sharing market that's trying to take market share away from Uber in London and Europe more broadly. They operate in 100 cities and have over 25 million customers

Their strategy is to focus on markets where Uber used to have a monopoly and then they come in with a better offering for drivers

Bolt has the ability to grow aggressively for now as they're well financed. They face a similar to challenge to Uber in that no company in this space has established a profitable business model that isn't propped up by investors with deep pockets. Creating a sustainable model that's better for drivers than Uber is the way Bolt can win
