- At least 8+ years building & shipping commercial mobile software for the Android platform
- Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and Java
- Strong understanding of the Gradle build system and the Android SDK
- Experience with design patterns and best practices for Android development
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and a passion for writing clean and maintainable code that is well-tested
- Proven track record of developing highly scalable designs
- Stellar communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Good troubleshooting skills including usage of native tools, profilers and debuggers
- Preference for working in a dynamic startup environment where everyday offers new challenges
- A strong passion for mobile development and a desire to learn and grow
- Wish to mentor junior engineers
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with Security

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools

What the job involves
- As part of Lookout’s Engineering team, you will have an opportunity to take on some of the most interesting challenges in one or more core areas of intellectual property and fundamental building blocks that form Lookout’s category-defining Enterprise products
- In order to tackle these challenging problems, you must be open-minded in exploring new areas as well as evolve key existing systems, including our Android mobile platforms, automation and CI/CD tooling
- Design, estimate, develop, and maintain high-quality, performant, and user-friendly Android applications
- Collaborate closely with Designers, Product Managers, and other Engineers to bring our product vision to life
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability
- Conduct unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and actively contribute to building a strong development culture
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies and frameworks (Kotlin, Coroutines, Compose, Jetpack, etc)
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and effectively

Lookout provides cybersecurity services that protect businesses from privacy risks as an increasing number of business processes become connected and digital.
The biggest competitor to Lookout is SASA (secure access service edge) platforms, which create a perimeter of data protection for businesses in the cloud. However, Lookout aims to provide a unique service to SASA platforms by offering a less invasive cybersecurity product that respects user privacy on personal devices.
The co-founders of Lookout set out to provide individuals and businesses with better security protection before smartphones were in widespread use. The company will continue to adapt and develop its services in an attempt to protect security and privacy in an increasingly digital world.
