Role
Who you are
- Based in Irvine, CA, we are seeking highly passionate, highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronics Engineers with a focus on cutting edge imaging / camera technology, to join our team
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or ElectronicsEngineering, more advanced degrees are preferred
- 3-5 years demonstrable experience as hands on development engineer with a specialization in video or camera technologies, preferably in a senior or lead role
- Strong knowledge of video recording systems, digital camera systems, image sensors, and related components preferred
- Experience with design or testing for aerospace systems to military or spaceflight standards preferred
- Fluency in concept design, circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence)
- Experience with high-speed interfaces such as MIPI, SLVS, USB, Ethernet, and HDMI
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and debug high speed, and complex electronic systems, utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
- Solid understanding of embedded systems, firmware development, and software-hardware integration
- Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- A track record of successfully delivering video related projects to market, on time, and within budget
What the job involves
- As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of advanced camera systems and related electronic components for our novel space based camera systems
- Lead the design and development of camera and video systems and related electronic components, including image sensors, image processors, memory and physical layer and interfaces
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to define camera system’s requirements and specifications
- Perform detailed circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout for camera subsystems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Research emerging camera technologies and trends
- Develop and execute test plans to verify system performance, image quality, and reliability
- Troubleshoot and debug issues during development, and production
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers
- Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely and cost-effective production of camera systems, while maintaining quality standards
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in camera technology, industry standards, and best practices, actively contributing to the innovation and improvement of our products
Our take
Founded in 2022, TRL 11 develops technology used for satellites and manned space vehicles. Focused mainly on video solutions for space travel at low orbit, the company has most recently worked on SpaceX’s Transporter 8 Flight in June 2023.
The company’s core technologies currently being developed and used for space flights include the Space Aware Video Edge-Compute Recorder, the Hardened Network Switch for space travel internet connectivity, and the flexible launch adapter CubeSAT Deployer.
TRL 11 has reached new benchmarks in its tech developments in recent months. Its Space Aware Video Edge-Compute Recorder managed to log 90 minutes of full-motion video from multiple camera angles. This new benchmark indicates that the company’s wares are well-suited for a multitude of tasks during space travel, and has TRL 11 well set to pioneer a range of next generation solutions for the New Space Economy.
