What the job involves
- The Marketing Intern role is a three months internship (student / unpaid internship) with the opportunity to join Newcon full-time afterward
- Being part of an early-stage startup, you can expect to be working on many different things. Still, your focus will be to help build and improve a beautiful product for our community. Day-to-day you'll be working closely with the marketing team on the strategy and creating lively and creative copies for social media and various other marketing efforts
- You will plan and create content for many types of projects (product launches, social media, ads)
- You will be in the lead of the creative process at any stage, ranging from brainstorming to production, and lead your own projects
- You design "engaging content" for our social media channels and come up with creative formats and copies
- You identify digital trends, new formats, and channels to increase our product and brand awareness
- You lead your own projects from conception to “go-live”
- Support content creation, copywriting efforts, and marketing campaigns
- You develop a deep understanding of the marketing strategy

Our take
Over the past few years, the move to online and hybrid work has led to a lot of useful and educational content being created by some excellent speakers. However, these videos and podcasts now have nowhere to go, leading to a vast wealth of knowledge sitting idle, unseen and unheard. Newcon was founded in 2021 to create a platform where this content could be promoted, allowing viewers to take advantage of a range of previously unavailable keynote speeches and training materials, and letting creators profit from their work.
Newcon is not alone in hosting streaming content on demand, and faces competition from some major players, most notably Youtube which also hosts similar content. However the Newcon platform provides a far greater range of tools to its creators, allowing them to directly target their content to specific types of users and to monetise their work, and also to build a community around the content they are creating.
Having raised funding in early 2022, Newcon is focusing on building out its founding team. It is also building partnerships with organisations operating in the tech space such as CoinDesk and START Global to provide content to their users. As creators continue to seek ways to monetise their content, and produce more thanks to the growth in business media tools such as Linkedin Video, Newcon is well positioned to build a significant presence in this sector.
