Who you are
- A problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments

- You’ve been in the startup or high-growth tech world and you know how to move fast, iterate quickly, and get things done
- 5+ years working with C# and .NET Core — you’ve got a deep understanding of backend systems and know how to make them scalable, efficient, and robust
- You're a SQL Server and Entity Framework Core pro and can manage complex data operations effortlessly
- You’ve built and scaled solutions with Azure and love the flexibility it provides
- You love AI and new tools, and you’re always ready to dive into the latest technologies
- You don’t just build code — you build for the customer, always thinking of how to solve real-world problems
- You have the drive to work autonomously, make big decisions, and make a significant impact without the need for micromanagement
What the job involves
- This isn’t your typical backend engineer role. As our Principal Engineer, you’ll own the backend of our Web SDK and have the freedom to take bold, innovative leaps
- You won’t be tied to managing anyone else — this is all about leading from the front
- You'll have the space to think creatively, push the limits of what's possible, and tackle complex technical problems that keep us ahead of the curve
- The backend is yours to shape, and we're counting on you to make things fast, scalable, and smooth
- You’ll be at the forefront of testing and integrating cutting-edge technologies — AI, automation, and whatever else is on the horizon

- Own the backend: Build and evolve the backend of our Web SDK with absolute freedom to shape it how you see fit
- Innovate relentlessly: We don’t do “good enough” — we want someone who’s obsessed with staying ahead of the game
- Experiment with the latest technologies, including AI, and constantly push our tech stack to new heights
- Tackle tough problems: Solve complex, high-stakes problems that affect the heart of our product

- Second — we’ll send over a take home technical task; we’ll pay you £100 to complete it regardless of the outcome
- Third — a chat with Murray, a senior member of the backend technical team
- Fourth — time with Dave, the CTO

Storyteller offers an end-to-end service that allows clients to publish Stories to its app. According to Storyteller, clients can boost user engagement, retention, and revenue through its in-app Stories.
Storyteller allows clients to easily implement its solution within its apps through Storyteller's native iOS and Android SDKs, eliminating years of in‑house development. What's more, Storyteller's platform comes with various analytics and management tools, allowing clients to measure user engagement, conversion & loyalty as well as create, schedule & preview their Stories.
Storyteller also differentiates itself through its industry‑leading UX: it allows clients to bring a trending format to users, which includes various features such as swipe-up action, hold to pause and gesture navigation. Storyteller's main priority is to invest in creating new additional features that will deepen user engagement and increase app usage.
