Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a Commercial Counsel who thrives in a high-growth, fast-moving environment and can partner seamlessly with both revenue-facing and internal business teams
- J.D. (or equivalent) and active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction
- 4–7+ years of commercial legal experience, with significant in-house or tech/SaaS focus
- Strong track record negotiating SaaS license agreements, SLAs, reseller/partner agreements, NDAs, and vendor/procurement contracts
- Excellent drafting skills, business judgment, and ability to translate complex legal issues into practical guidance
- Self-starter comfortable working remotely, managing multiple priorities, and partnering cross-functionally
Desirable
- Experience negotiating DPAs, privacy/security addenda, or working with regulated industries
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools
- Background in cybersecurity, SaaS, or other data-sensitive technology environments
What the job involves
- As Commercial Counsel, you will support a broad range of commercial transactions across Doppel’s global business
- You’ll handle both customer-facing deals and vendor/supplier agreements, enabling sales growth while ensuring Doppel’s internal operations and procurement contracts are sound
- This is a hands-on role with high visibility across the company
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
- SaaS / license agreements
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Reseller & channel partner agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Vendor / supplier / procurement agreements (IT, services, cloud infrastructure, professional services, etc.)
- (Nice to have) Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and privacy/security addenda
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales, Partner/Channel, Procurement, IT, Security, and Finance on contract terms, risks, and negotiation strategy
- Provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice that accelerates deal cycles while protecting company interests
- Improve templates, playbooks, and contracting processes to drive scalability and efficiency
- Support contract lifecycle management practices, approvals, and ongoing obligations tracking
- Collaborate with Security and Privacy teams on data protection and regulatory compliance as needed
Our take
While the NFT space is often one that is enticing to investors and traders, there are persistent issues with fraud in the market. Cybercriminals are able to pass off any image as their own intellectual property, and while NFT marketplaces do abide by copyright laws this kind of fraud can be hard to spot before money changes hands. The damage to a brand's reputation and customer trust can be hard to rectify.
Doppel exists to solve this problem. Using an AI model trained to spot fraud and IP violations, it indexes NFT data across most of the major blockchains and flags potentially fraudulent NFTs. Trusted by Opensea, Dapper and numerous other marketplaces, Doppel scans over 1.5 million NFTs daily and has identified over 100,000 threats in the marketplace.
Doppel has raised significant funding, its 2024 round is being used to develop its AI-driven platform further. While the NFT sector as a whole is going through a turbulent time, the applications of NFTs in new areas such as gaming and ticketing are not going unnoticed. Doppel wants to achieve continuous monitoring and rapid detection across more platforms, expanding its web and social media range into the dark web, crypto and encrypted messaging services like Telegram.
