Role
Who you are
- Formal degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, together with 7+ years of experience working on Software in a production setting (years of experience to be used as a guideline, seniority is explored in the technical challenge)
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript - as well as experience writing code in one or more of the following: Java, Rust, or Golang; Full Front- or Backend experience is equally valued as long as you are language-agnostic!
- Prior exposure to GraphQL or microservice architecture
- Experience working in a modern CI/CD workflow and agile environment
- Proficiency in developing large-scale codebases with a strong understanding of architecture, along with adeptness in managing extensive web applications
- Interest and ability to learn most technologies on-the-go
- Positive, proactive mindset and ability to work independently, but also enjoy working in a cross-functional team
- Strong communication skills, ability to explain technical terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and fluency in English
Desirable
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Familiarity with NoSQL and SQL databases (e.g. ArangoDB, Postgres/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Affinity and experience in DevOps and/or working in production scale cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) and GitHub-ci automation
- Proficiency and/or interest in some of the following; Low-Code, Data Modeling, ETL, Micro-frontends, Monorepos, E2E testing
- Scientific knowledge or interest in fields related to our research (such as data structures and algorithms, 3D programming and rendering, simulations, statistics, numerical methods, mathematical modeling in physics)
What the job involves
- As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you play a pivotal role in shaping our cutting-edge functionalities and pioneering solutions that empower engineers to seamlessly interact with the products they bring to life, unlocking new realms of innovation in product creation and maintenance
- Crafting simple solutions to complex engineering problems, writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code adhering to SOLID values
- Embody a sense of ownership and pride taking in delivery of responsive, user-centric, and high-performing code for SPREAD’s Web-Applications and Platform
- As a part of a cross-functional team, you own medium to large features and tasks, driving them from technical design through release; covering both frontend and backend aspects
- To be driven by quality when it comes to documentation and test coverage, including reviews, unit-, integration-, and end-to-end testing
- Follow developments on cutting-edge technology and best practices to enhance your work and SPREAD’s products
- Collaborate closely with POs, Designers, QA, and other colleagues and constantly push for a better experience for our customers
- Foresee and plan implementation strategies for solutions reflecting product vision and business goals
- As a Senior you promote best practices through leadership by example, eagerly share your knowledge, and are someone who junior colleagues look to as a mentor
Our take
The complexity of modern products, as well as the associated manufacturing processes, has increased over the past few decades. This growing complexity introduces three major challenges for engineers creating complex products. Firstly, the process is often inefficient, with engineers spending large amounts of time on non-productive things like coordination meetings. Secondly, information in this area is often difficult to find: engineers commonly spend around a quarter of their time searching for product information. Thirdly, creating cross-departmental understanding is often highly challenging. In short, things need to get better.
This is where SPREAD AI comes in. Its software streamlines the product design process at all stages, from providing access to part or component information to suggesting how a product can be assembled and even repaired. These high-level product insights aim to increase efficiency in the design process.
SPREAD AI has generated a lot of interest with a customer base including major manufacturers such as Audi, Ford, Miele and Porsche. This has led to the startup raising a significant amount of funding which it intends to use for early product development and growth.
