Who you are

- Mission Critical Experience: 7+ years of progressive career experience, and 5+ years in data center operations or field services, with a track record of managing reliability at scale and demonstrated cross-functional coordination
- Technical Experience: Demonstrated understanding of industrial equipment (UPS, transformers) and working knowledge of liquid-cooled (DLC) systems
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to drive alignment across teams — ensuring operational procedures aren't just documented, but understood and adopted
- Logistics Know-How: Experience building or coordinating sparing and staffing strategies for remote, time-sensitive operations
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of OSHA standards and LOTO protocols for high-voltage and mission-critical environments
- Adaptability: Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth organization where priorities shift and roles evolve
What the job involves
- Once a Spark (Modular Data Center) is deployed, it must stay up
- We are seeking a Manager, Field Operations Coordination to own the operational reliability of our growing, geodiverse fleet of Spark AI data centers
- In this role, you will be the connective tissue between field operations, internal teams, and cross-functional partners — ensuring that the people, processes, and playbooks needed to keep our fleet running are in place, aligned, and understood across the organization
- As a part of the Spark organization, you will partner with internal teams, including Data Center Facility Operations and Site Operations, to ensure deployment, commissioning, and maintenance procedures are consistent fleet-wide, and evolving to meet the needs of the business
- As Crusoe continues to scale rapidly, this role will evolve, and we're looking for someone who thrives in that kind of environment
- Fleet Reliability & Uptime You will be the Spark point-person for uptime and reliability across the Spark fleet. You'll serve as the primary field operations interface with the broader business, driving alignment on best practices and working to standardize and simplify protocols across Spark deployments
- Operational Readiness You will coordinate across teams to ensure operational playbooks are in place and kept current for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled Spark units (CDUs, cooling loops, leak detection). You'll work closely with field and training teams to ensure technicians are prepared and certified to support next-generation infrastructure, and ensure SLA commitments to managed services customers are met
- Logistics & Safety You will partner with logistics and operations teams to ensure critical sparing strategies and staffing models are defined, communicated, and built to support 4-hour response times at remote sites. You will champion a zero-incident safety culture by ensuring OSHA and LOTO protocols are current, well-understood, and consistently followed across all field work
Our take
Crusoe is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing the digital age: the enormous energy demand of data centres and AI infrastructure. As AI models grow more powerful, they require immense computing power (and therefor electricity) to train and operate. This surge in energy use has put some pressure on power grids, driven up costs, and raised environmental concerns. Crusoe is on a mission to make this process more sustainable by finding smarter, cleaner, and more efficient ways to power the data centres that drive modern computing.
The company started out by putting wasted energy to work. Originally known as Crusoe Energy, it captured natural gas that would otherwise be burned off ("flared") at remote oil sites and used it to power modular data centres. Today, Crusoe has evolved into a major player in AI infrastructure, designing and operating large-scale data centres near renewable or stranded energy sources. It's now one of a handful of "neocloud" companies (next-generation cloud providers focused on flexible, efficient computing for AI workloads). And its facilities are helping tech giants like OpenAI handle the massive computing requirements of training advanced AI models.
Recently, Crusoe has attracted some huge investor attention, tripling its valuation to over $10B and raising almost $1.4B in its 2025 funding round. It's building OpenAI's first major US data centre campus and even experimenting with bold new frontiers. In partnership with Starcloud, Crusoe plans to deploy the world's first space-based cloud computing infrastructure, powered by solar energy and orbiting the Earth by 2027. If successful, this could redefine how and where computing happens, opening up a cleaner, virtually limitless source of energy for AI's next generation.
