Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of directly applicable experience in an analytical role in consulting, finance, high-growth start-up, or related business; E-commerce experience, especially within a subscription company, is a plus
- Experience with analyzing large datasets, such as transactional and site traffic data for actionable business insights
- Strong understanding of experimentation and experience in designing, monitoring and analyzing rigorous A/B tests
- Strong SQL skills are a must. Experience with other technical tools such as R, Python, and visualization softwares such as Looker is a plus
- Evidence of analytical skills, problem solving, business acumen and strong logical thinking
- Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate analyses to non-technical employees
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving hyper growth environment
What the job involves
- Perform quantitative analyses and run A/B tests to evaluate performance of growth initiatives across digital product & marketing and advise senior management on key strategic decisions
- Assess new digital product opportunities, work with product managers and engineers to estimate expected impact and ROI of new feature launches
- Take responsibility for projects from conception to completion, with guidance from Analytics Team Leadership and collaboration with peers
- Develop insights and recommendations and present to senior business partners including members of the Daily Harvest Leadership Team
- Monitor business performance and present this information to stakeholders in live Looker dashboards and other presentations and reports help define our growth strategy across the company
- Utilize proprietary data and other sources to better understand our customers, their preferences, and their purchasing decisions
- Participate in cross-functional teams and build relationships with key internal clients and business partners including Marketing, Digital Product, Finance and Engineering teams
Our take
Daily Harvest has been offering customers home-delivery of frozen meals and products since its founding back in 2015. It is, however, an interesting and health-conscious re-imagining of the frozen meal concept, one which leans heavily on the ability to provide organic fruit and vegetables largely sourced in the US.
In this sense, the company sits neatly at the intersection of a growing focus on health consciousness, and increased consumer demand for personalized, home-delivery grocery services. Whilst there are plenty of frozen meal delivery services operating across the US - Mosaic Foods, Splendid Spoon, The Good Kitchen, to name a few - Daily Harvest has carved out a distinctive niche through its focus on clean, nutritious ingredients sourced directly from farms.
In addition to backing up their promises of clean produce, this relatively local sourcing allows Daily Harvest to offer a more agile response to customer feedback. It has helped them gain a competitive edge as they have dodged many of the supply chain issues in recent years that are hampering international freighting. Having opened their first brick-and-mortar store in 2022, along with expanding their regenerative agriculture projects, this newly-minted Unicorn company is being rewarded for its distinctive and laudable operations in a highly competitive field.
