Our take

The global video conferencing market is rapidly growing, with some predictions estimating that its value will pass $9 billion by 2026. In one way or another, we’ve all embraced video calls, be it with work colleagues or even doctors. Yet for developers, building both real-time audio and video features into products remains a lingering challenge.

That’s where Daily comes in. Daily provides APIs so developers can add real-time audio and visual features to products or websites using just two lines of code. Use cases include video calls, audio-only apps, and webinars, with existing consumers including the likes of AppFolio, HotDoc, and Pitch. Key developments to watch will be areas such as healthcare, where providers are looking to introduce new apps and tools so that patients can more easily access things like primary care, mental health services, and standard prescriptions.

Founded in 2015, Daily has seen massive growth due to the increase in video calling, however, this has also led to an explosion of competition on the market coming from the likes of Iotum, Whereby and ComeToChat. That being said, Daily has been hugely successful in raising funding across multiple rounds, which will be of great assistance in getting ahead in the market. For now, Daily's key focus is on gearing up to meet future demand by building its team and expanding its global infrastructure.
