Who you are
- Dailymotion is seeking for a dynamic and motivated DevOps Engineer with a strong interest in site reliability and software production
- The ideal candidate dreams of efficient orchestration and scalable and resilient architecture
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Strong Expertise with Cloud Platforms (GCP,AWS)
- Strong Expertise in CD pipelines (Flux)
- Strong Expertise in monitoring and observability capabilities, including FinOps best practices (Prometheus, Grafana,Datadog, Looker)
- Experience with Data lifecycle Management (Storage policies, costs optimization , security, encryption)
- Experience in Data pipelines for ML models (Airflow,DataFlow,Kestra)
- Experience in ML infrastructure optimization (GPUs,TPUs, Inferentia)
- Experience in CI pipelines (Tekton, Jenkins,Jx3)
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in Bash scripting; knowledge of Go or Rust is a plus
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with Dev Engineers and cross-functional teams
- Ability to drive innovation and advocate for best DevOps practices within the company

What the job involves
- As part of the Platform team, with a strong experience in distributed software architectures and release management, you will contribute to building our internal Platform-as-a-Service running on Kubernetes
- You will also be responsible of the maintenance and the evolution of our CD platform based on FluxCD
- Using AGILE methodologies in collaboration with other teams you will help support Dailymotion's business growth by defining appropriate systems and architectures that can handle our development needs and processing volumes
- Ensure that the platform is reliable and performant through testing, automation and monitoring
- Participate in the on-call program to provide application support, handle incident management, and troubleshoot production issues
- Ensure optimal use of our Kubernetes clusters , from performance perspective and cost effectiveness perspective ( FinOps)
- Ensure a high level of platform security
- Maintain and improve our CD platform and delivery workflows
- Share best practices with your peers
- Collaborate with developers to understand their specifics requirements, while continuously improving the architecture and deepening your understanding of the global system. The right component for the right need
- Provide guidance on MLOPS and Data architectures (Cloud GCP, Airflow, GPUs)
- Maintain detailed documentation of engineering processes, infrastructures, and troubleshooting procedures
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and devops to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Our take
In many ways, it's difficult to talk about Dailymotion without talking about YouTube, its most obvious competitor. And it is indeed worth noting that the company underwent a major change in recent years to build its own programmatic platform partially to compete more directly with its famous American counterpart.
However, the truth is the nature of modern content consumption means that Dailymotion need not obsess over YouTube’s user base. There’s enough of an audience - at least 4 billion people by some estimates - for both video-streaming giants to co-exist.
That means Dailymotion has been able to experiment with different strategies. For example, the platform indisputably has better relationships than YouTube with its corporate partners, often engaging in bespoke product development to facilitate deeper relationships.
Perhaps the biggest competitive threat for Dailymotion will be not from its rival video-streaming platform, but from entirely new forms of internet-based entertainment. Short-form video content from platforms like TikTok is already siphoning away the younger cohort of users from longer-format video providers, a trend Dailymotion will need to address in the future.
