Senior Software Engineer, Okta

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including designing and maintaining distributed backend systems
• Proficiency in Golang and strong knowledge of backend development best practices
• Experience with Postgres, including schema design, query optimization, and operational management
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing data pipelines and Change Data Capture (CDC) systems
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery workflows
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and systems design
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor others, and influence engineering direction
• Experience building resilient, high-availability services that operate at scale
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for sharing knowledge through documentation and collaboration

• In this role, you’ll lead the design, development, and evolution of core backend services and data pipelines that power developer productivity and platform reliability across Okta
• You’ll drive technical direction, mentor teammates, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions that serve millions of users worldwide
• Design, build, and maintain Golang-based backend services supporting critical platform capabilities
• Build and maintain Postgres-backed systems for performance, reliability, and scalability, including data pipelines and Change Data Capture (CDC) workflows
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and reliable service delivery
• Lead architectural discussions and technical decisions for new features and platform initiatives
• Identify and consolidate redundant tools and services to reduce complexity across teams
• Champion best practices in software design, observability, and operational excellence
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on technical direction and deliver solutions that scale globally
