Who you are
- We are looking for driven, capable, visionary, and prudent talents with proven track records of personal, academic, and professional achievement
- Undergraduate degree or final year at a top-tier university, MA/MSc is a plus
- Professional experience in an impactful entrepreneurial environment, leading technology company, or management consultancy/venture capital
- Superb communication skills (verbal and written English and German) and ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Long-held interest in technology, both personally and professionally
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize appropriately and effectively
What the job involves
- Being one of the first business team members, you will help us identify, evaluate, and act on business development opportunities
- You will develop and set up operations to grow our business
- You will work directly with the founders, shaping the product and helping us deliver value to our customers
- Sales Strategy & Outreach: Research and identify potential customers, carry out strategic outreach to generate leads, and manage interactions to drive conversions
- Sales Presentations & Proposals: Create compelling sales presentations tailored to potential customers, draft proposals addressing their specific needs, and ensure follow-ups to close sales deals
- Sales Data Management: Maintain and manage the customer database, track and analyze sales data to understand trends, and provide reports to the team on sales performance
- Exploring New Channels: Proactively identify and explore new channels, platforms, or strategies to enhance and optimize sales efforts, ensuring our reach and impact continue to grow
- This is a full-time, paid intern position, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time position based on performance
Our take
Predicting AI as the most significantly growing tech field of this century, Merantix aims to apply machine learning to sectors that can benefit most from it. After a robust, highly selective vetting process, Merantix identifies founders and collaborates to provide support and funding to scale their businesses. The company integrates all areas of AI, building a complete talent pipeline and fund for venture scaling. Successful examples include Vara, SiaSearch, and Cambrium.
Merantix differentiates itself from typical venture capital firms through its approach. While most VCs invest in established businesses, spreading funds across many companies and taking losses while focusing on winners, Merantix tries to pick winners at the earliest stage.
The launch of an AI Campus in 2021 significantly increased the company's ecosystem, allowing it to explore new fields. Through strategic partnerships with SoftBank and the AI City project in Dubai, Merantix is growing. It has incubated ten successful startups so far and aims to produce even more in the coming years. Merantix is raising a new €100 million fund to co-invest in startups, marking its largest fund yet. This fund will be allocated to co-investing in external startups, investing in incubated startups, and supporting existing investments.
