To buildin the leading real-time information discovery platform to mitigate fast-emerging, complex risks.
Dataminr pioneered real-time information discovery, meaning that important information is discovered before it’s trending. By detecting critical information from real-time public data, risks are mitigated to facilitate effective crisis management.
The company does this by using AI to scour the internet for breaking news events, largely on digital platforms and IoT sensors, including Twitter. The social media organisation owns a five percent stake in Dataminr, and gives the company exclusive access to its “firehose,” or its full feed of users’ public posts. Through this, Dataminr's tool has become indispensable to a variety of organisations that lean on its real-time analysis, such as investors, media organisations and emergency services.
The company has developed a more sophisticated tool than other 'social listening' data analytics services. As long as it can maintain this winning position in the space, Dataminr will only grow. The company continues to grow its corporate business line, covering security, risk and crisis, cyber threats and business intelligence. Dataminr also aims to further expand its services internationally across Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
