Who you are
- Expert architectural/advisory technical capabilities in Data Protection, Data Security, Storage, Virtualization, Cloud, and/or other related technology pillars
- Expertise in scale-out architectures
- Expertise in Cohesity Data Protection & Recovery (SaaS, On-Prem, and Hybrid)
- Expertise in File and Object services (NFS, SMB, and S3)
- Expertise in public cloud compute and storage offerings
- Professional Services, Advanced Support, or Sales Engineering experience with a hands-on focus
- Excellent outcome driving skills with an owner mindset to get things done
- Excellent strategic and enterprise account management skills
- Excellent technical and business communications skills
- Ability to work with product and engineering to drive product improvements
- 10+ years of experience with a clear track record of advancement in related roles: Solution architecture, Support Engineering, Product management, Engineering, Customer Success, Technical Account Management, Pre-Sales Engineering, Escalation Management/Engineering, Professional Services Delivery & Architecture
- A combined background of post-sales and pre-sales engineering with a focus on architecture and solution delivery
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree; preference for computer science or related degrees, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated trajectory of success with people-management, coaching, and up-leveling and amplifying team’s competencies
- Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building
- Deep business operations expertise; has solid experience with SFDC, Gainsight, and adept with creating reports and dashboards is highly preferred
- Strong empathy for customers AND passion for revenue and growth
- Deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models
- Analytical and process driven mindset
- Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement

What the job involves
- 50% Collaborate Cohesity Customer Experience Org & Sales Org to accelerate deployment and adoption for top customers
- Second level review for As-Sold documentation and deployments plans: validate design, sizing, and deployment plans for top customer purchases
- Collaborate with customer and PS deployment teams to resolve challenges that arise during deployment, and update customer collateral to reflect changes
- Identify and address gaps between deployment, adoption, and operations phases
- Ensure that operations plans are in-line with outcomes that drove purchase
- Leverage hands-on time during deployment, adoption, and operations cycle to identify expansion opportunities for Cohesity and re-engage sales teams
- Fill gap for ad-hoc delivery needs that fall between support and professional services: e.g. small scope changes, script integration, advising on best practices, security hardening, tuning recommendations, reporting assistance, API usage assistance
- Recommend standard and customized training based on customer needs
- Recommend follow-on professional services for large scope changes or other significant work items
- Identify competitive risks in customer environments
- 20% Escalation Response
- Act as technical leader for complex response and critical escalations with top customers, including leading collaboration across support, engineering, and escalation management teams
- Lead development of resolution action plans and driving alignment on the plan with all customer and Cohesity stakeholders
- Brief customer leadership and engineering teams on issue resolution plans
- Assist with custom documentation to close escalations
- Act as reviewer for RCA documentation as needed
- 15% Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering
- Based on customer learnings, escalations, and feedback, communicate information back to engineering and product management to improve Cohesity offerings
- Work with engineering and documentation teams to address issues identified during deployment of reference architectures
- Monitor key enhancement requests through development cycle to keep customer informed, and ensure alignment of enhancements to customer requirements and outcomes
- 15% Training, Documentation, & Other
- Provide customized, hands-on knowledge transfer to customers to address gaps between customer needs and standard education offerings: e.g. training demos, advisory working sessions
- Review and publish internal and external technical collateral
- Evangelize Cohesity offerings and roadmaps to develop customer advocates and champions
- Develop runbooks and other customer specific technical collateral
- Automate Cohesity product workflows using scripting languages like shell, python, PowerShell, etc
