Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of fullstack engineering experience
- Experience with React, Redux, and Node.js
- In-person: Looking to hire in NYC to contribute alongside the product team. 5 days in the office
- Ownership & attention to detail: You see things through, and can be responsible for end-to-end quality of complex features
- Code Performance: Excellent understanding of code performance implications in production and confident with profiling tools
- Be result-driven: Everything we do is driven by the metrics and performance of the feature. We move fast and ship regularly
- Bonus: Experience building and shipping your own products from 0 → 1; Java, C#, and C++ experience; a passion for the creator economy, short-form content marketing, and the games industry
What the job involves
- You'll be part of a lean, high-ownership duo building ClipBox, a new standalone web platform inside Medal, working directly with our General Manager and with oversight from Medal tech leadership
- As a true fullstack builder, you'll own projects end-to-end, from idea and UX details to system design, implementation, and launch, including scaling real-time video tracking and analytics across hundreds of thousands of videos, building secure payments and payout workflows, and shipping integrations with social APIs like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, with a Discord bot planned as part of the ecosystem
- You'll move quickly, iterate with AI coding tools, help make pragmatic stack choices, and have meaningful product and design autonomy

Our take
Video games have become highly social experiences due to multiplayer gaming, eSports and social media, spawning a huge market for audiences who enjoy watching gaming-related video content. Gamers commonly stream games and edit the footage to produce memes and engage with friends, but this requires many software tools and a separate platform on which to share experiences.
Medal provides a social platform for gaming video clips. It allows users to record and edit footage, make gaming memes, and share content with friends from one place. While the company competes with platform giants like Twitch, it stands out by being specifically designed for gaming content. It also collects in-game data to mitigate cheating and cyberbullying, and integrates directly into any Windows or Android game.
In 2025, Medal spun out "General Intuition", and has since been hiring to both its own and the new company's team. General Intuition's mission is to build a new class of models that can perceive, predict and act in both virtual and physical environments. It is leveraging Medal's vast datasets to this end, reducing the limitations on machine intelligence by training AI on interaction and exploration rather than just written words.
