Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience as an account executive in SaaS, HR-tech, or benefits industries; having previously sold into employee benefits brokers is required
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota
- Proven track record of consistently outperforming activity metrics
- Must be proficient in Salesforce CRM, as well as other sales automation softwares to support a modern sales approach
- Desire and commitment to do what it takes to be successful in sales
- Impeccable presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage various audiences
- Experience building out a territory and creating new business opportunities
- Highly interpersonal, solutions-oriented, and analytical in nature
- Positive outlook and a strong ability to take responsibility for their successes and failures
- Ability to communicate with customers in a clear, memorable, and inspirational way
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

Desirable
- Working knowledge of health insurance (Consumer Driven Health) or employee benefits is required; previous brokerage and/or consultant experience is a plus
What the job involves
- Drive new HSA and FSA sales within your territory
- Day-to-day management of all sales activity in your assigned territory
- Meet or exceed personal sales quotas and activity metrics
- Conduct inbound and outbound phone and email sales discussions with prospective clients in multiple industries
- Drive sales strategies by developing and expanding broker channel relationships
- Educate and guide prospects through the buyer’s journey to help them learn how Lively can drive healthcare cost reduction to their company and drive up employee engagement
- Map out various decision-makers and influencers needed to close deals, effectively engaging all to win new business for Lively
- Manage a pipeline of inbound, SDR-generated, and self-sourced leads to identify, engage, and develop relationships with potential buyers
- Dissect and qualify prospects’ business goals to determine if Lively can help solve their business needs
- Partner with marketing and product departments to execute sales strategy as the company introduces enhancements to existing solutions and/or releases new products
- Provide market feedback to help further refine our ideal customer profile across industries
Our take
Lively is a platform offering modern Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). As high-deductible health plans are regularly replacing traditional deductible plans in many employee benefit schemes, Lively is capitalizing by offering their consumer-first, paperwork-light accounts to employers and individuals.
The startup will use its sizeable investment funding and revenue to build more consumer tools, scale its team and further expand its offerings to financial institutions and employers, exemplified by a 2021 deal to provide accounts via BMO Harris.
While the platform’s product-first approach has seen it successfully achieve $500m AUM faster than any other HSA provider, it is ultimately a savings account provider. That means market turbulence could hurt the company’s bottom line. Despite this, its continual addition of diverse sets of customers and diversity of products should ensure Lively’s growth.
