Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience as a customer-facing engineering role such as a solution consultant, solutions architect, or sales engineer
- Strong knowledge of APIs and their application across varying use-cases (ideally, Payments)
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for diverse audiences
- Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire prospective customers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Can operate independently in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Experience in Financial Services / FinTech and mapping solutions to user/payment flows
- Experience working at a smaller stage company / start-up environment
- Tools: Miro, Retool, Postman - or similar
What the job involves
- As a Solutions Engineer at Method Financial, you will play a pivotal role in helping our prospective customers quickly understand the application and value of Method’s extensive APIs
- You will collaborate closely with the sales team to showcase our API solutions, identify and address technical questions, accurately scope/size each deal, design product and payment flow diagrams, and ensure customers can onboard quickly and efficiently
- Your expertise in APIs and payments flows, combined with your technical depth, will make you an invaluable partner to our customers
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales process
- Work with customers to design and architect custom solutions that meet their specific needs using Method Financial’s API platform
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the value and capabilities of Method Financial’s API solutions
- Provide technical expertise to ensure successful integration and implementation of our APIs within the customer’s environment
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product, engineering, and customer success, to address any technical challenges and ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and resources to support the onboarding process
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the fintech and API space
- Provide feedback to the product team on customer needs, pain points, and potential product enhancements
- Assist in the development of sales and marketing collateral to effectively communicate the technical value of our solutions
Our take
Managing debt payments can be a challenge for fintech developers, who usually have to build these features into their products from scratch. Method aims to make this process much easier, providing an API which allows developers to embed debt and bill payment automation into their own apps.
Though facing a competitive market, the company is rolling out new features such as instant balance transfers and real-time credit card transactions while regularly forging new partnerships to stay ahead of the competition. So far, it has grown a customer base of 60 customers and ~5 million end-users.
The company has raised a significant amount of capital, most recently in a 2025 Series B led by Emergence Capital. This will be used to accelerate product development and onboard new talent. As the fintech sector continues to surge, Method's product will be a valuable tool in allowing new startups to compete with traditional institutions.
