Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in the Unity Engine and C#
- Shipped multiple games on iOS and Android platforms
- Published multiple titles to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Familiarity with platform app store guidelines and restrictions
- SDK or web development experience
- Communication skills and great work hygiene in a remote working environment
- Strong understanding of video game architecture and technology
- Education in programming structures and architecture, or equivalent experience
Desirable
- You are an avid gamer who can communicate what makes a game better or worse
- Web2 and Free To Play game development and playing experience
- Basic knowledge of blockchain technology
What the job involves
- We are excited to be adding a Staff Unity Developer to our senior team
- Proof of Play is committed to building fully on chain games, and the technical tools to power them. You will be building game features that take advantage of the unique opportunities of blockchain technology using the Unity 3D engine
- This is a quickly evolving field of technology, and we’re looking for individuals that can want to be a part of pioneering new ways to make games
- Work in a small team with artists, designers, and programmers to go from concepts to on screen results
- Collaborate across the studio to unblock others before you unblock yourself
- Ship game updates frequently to a very active player base
- Identify issues and propose solutions for making games in the blockchain technical space, and then implement those solutions
Our take
Proof of Play acts as both a game studio and a blockchain technology company, delivering the tools to build fully on-chain games. Through its suite of tools, it is possible to create decentralized titles in which players own their characters and assets, with an important emphasis on simplifying access so that gamers less versed in the blockchain can still get involved.
Blockchain games are a relatively new idea, and the direction of the market is yet to be established, which should give Proof of Play the opportunity to set its own standards. The first game built through the platform, Pirate Nation, has had a tentatively positive reception, which is promising for a first title.
Bringing together a team of gaming veterans from the likes of Riot Games, EA, and ActiVision, as well as early blockchain adopters, Proof of Play has a solid foundation from which to navigate the developing space. It has raised substantial funds that will be invested in company growth, as well as the further scaling of its technology.
