What the job involves
- FareHarbor is currently looking for a Channel Specialist to help manage our partner channels and affiliate programs in the Denver, CO office
- The Channel Support team works to build & maintain affiliate setups in the client’s FareHarbor dashboard, and helps tour operators and their affiliates streamline the booking process using FareHarbor’s software features, so that they no longer have to pick up the phone to make a booking
- Less time manually inserting bookings means more time growing their business
- In this role, you will be responsible for helping our clients manage their distribution channels with their reselling partners and develop and maintain relationships with affiliate accounts
- Handle inbound/outbound affiliate related support issues via emails and phone calls
- Develop and attain an in-depth knowledge of the Affiliate program and associated processes
- Provide exceptional support by listening, understanding the issue, and problem-solving with customers
- Implement the technical components for clients to get set up with new partners and maintaining technical components for existing partners
- Communicate and escalate appropriately across teams to ensure client needs are met
- Provide valuable user stories to the Software development team
- Contribute to the FareHarbor help documentation
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships both internal and external
- Consistently look for ways to improve current processes or introduce new approaches that will contribute to the client's success
Our take
Most holiday-goers in the US prefer to book their activities and experiences online - but when it comes to local operators, this isn’t always possible. FareHarbor has been developing software to help digitize the booking process for these smaller businesses and, over a decade, has brought thousands of them onto the books.
Along the way, FareHarbor also built up some strong momentum in the reservation management and distribution areas of the sector, which drove up the company’s valuation - making it a prime candidate for acquisition. Whilst TripAdvisor reportedly made multiple bids, FareHarbor ultimately went to Booking Holdings, the US’ largest vendor of tour company booking software.
This put FareHarbor in a strong position, enabling it to focus on customer acquisition (and insulating it somewhat from wobbles in the hospitality sector.) A 2025 global integration with Booking.com sees FareHarbor's network of operators gain direct reach to millions of travellers, while allowing Booking.com to expand its attractions offering.
