Company mission

To eliminate every barrier to mental health.

Role

Who you are

  • You are passionate about changing the face of mental health care and Spring Health’s mission to remove all barriers to mental health resonates with you
  • You have 10+ years of working experience working with data, data visualization, and dashboarding tools
  • You have 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring a team of data analysts
  • You have experience working with healthcare data, especially clinical improvement metrics
  • You have strong user empathy - you can deeply understand the core issues stakeholders are having and translate them into solutions that meaningfully improve their ability to operate
  • You are an expert in SQL, and are excited to continue to scale our dbt models and mentor your team of analysts on the same
  • You have experience working with Looker or other similar data visualization tools (tableau, etc), both creating the data model and building dashboards
  • You focus on impact, finding the things you that deliver the most value for your stakeholders
  • You have exceptional communication skills, and are comfortable working independently with executive level team members
  • You are humble, highly motivated, and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • You have a proven ability to proactively manage your own priorities and dependencies in alignment with cross-functional dependencies and product/business impact
  • You have a passion for successfully navigating ambiguous problem areas and learning new approaches
  • You see prioritization as a tool to maximize your impact, and can help your reports identify the right set of things to do (and more importantly, not do)

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a new leader in our business intelligence (BI) organization to continue to shape our embedded analyst program at Spring Health
  • This is a player-coach role: you will have the opportunity to drive your own analytics work while also partnering with other leaders in our business intelligence org to set the strategy for the analytics team and people manage three direct reports
  • You will be aligned with our Medical Affairs, a clinical team led by our Chief Medical Officer, working to refine KPIs for the team; improve underlying data infrastructure that power those KPIs and other important programs the team owns; and build out tools, analyses and dashboards to help the team operate at the top of their potential
  • Work with the Medical Affairs team to understand their current data landscape, learn about the team's data needs and current pain points, and develop a design for a revised data infrastructure that addresses these issues
  • Collaborate with the core BI and data engineering teams to implement the revised data infrastructure design in dbt
  • Use the revised data infrastructure to build out the tools, analyses, and dashboards that will enable the Medical Affairs team to track key clinical metrics, identify trends (positive and negative) and take proactive action
  • Work with Medical Affairs to refresh the logic and processes that power our provider scorecards
  • Manage three other embedded analysts, who will be staffed to different teams across the business. This includes 1:1s, performance reviews, etc
  • Work with the director of business intelligence to continue to refine the embedded analyst program, from the operational processes the team follows, to team culture
  • Reduce the amount of time teams spend manually pulling data to inform decisions
  • Develop tools and analyses that enable the Medical Affairs team to hit their own KPIs - you’re successful when you help your team be successful!
  • Continue to grow and mentor the team of analysts you manage, building technical and soft skills and enabling them to increase the impact they can deliver to their own teams
  • You will be held accountable to an exceptionally high bar and impact
  • This may be the fastest work environment you will ever experience in terms of growth, decision-making, and time to impact
  • You will be empowered to set your own boundaries and asked to adapt them in critical moments when the company needs you
  • You will create processes & products that have never existed before
  • You will have very direct conversations and receive continuous feedback to push you to become the most thriving team member and performer you can be
  • Change is a constant here: your role, team, responsibilities, and success metrics will shift as the company grows

Our take

Large companies often provide employees with mental health services, but small businesses find it challenging to offer similar support. Additionally, existing support systems are usually generalized, failing to deliver the personalized mental healthcare that individuals need. To address this gap, Spring Health has developed AI-driven tools for employers to create tailored mental wellness plans for their employees, including treatment options, daily routines, and medication plans based on individual data.

Spring Health has recently expanded its services to the family and pediatric space through the acquisition of Weldon, offering mental wellness guidance to parents. This expansion includes chats with therapists, social workers, and parenting coaches, as well as group support with other parents and access to educational content. By focusing on personalized care, Spring Health aims to enhance mental wellness support for families alongside its existing employee services.

The behavioral health market is projected to grow to $242B by 2027. While many solutions prioritise fast access to therapy or meditation, Spring Health differentiates itself by emphasizing the right type of care for each individual. With substantial funding raised, Spring Health is well-positioned to continue its innovative approach to mental health services.
