Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of proven experience in a senior operations or business development role, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
- A solid understanding of financial management and compliance requirements. A background in finance is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving business growth through partnerships and innovative business models
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead through change
- A deep understanding of subscription-based consumer products
- An appreciation for good design and craftsmanship
What the job involves
- As Head of Operations, you’ll partner directly with the CEO on Copilot Money’s growth strategy
- You’ll also be responsible for defining and maintaining our team’s operational excellence
- Discover and develop new, innovative, and high-upside business opportunities
- Manage the day-to-day operational rhythm of the company
- Set ambitious business goals and help the team understand how to achieve them
- Distill the complex relationship between the high-quality bar we set for our products and the efficiency with which we build and ship them
- Lead teams across Partnerships, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and HR
- Work closely with the Customer Success team to provide top-notch support and drive scalable growth
- Create strategies to scale the business as it grows, while keeping the team lean and agile
- Explore new business opportunities beyond subscriptions, like strategic partnerships, employee benefit programs, and student plans
- Lead go-to-market efforts for new initiatives, ensuring they align with the goals of the Product and Customer Success teams
- Find, build, and manage partnerships, including contract negotiations and nurturing ongoing relationships
- Develop ways to leverage partnerships to boost growth and bring in new customers
- Handle regulatory and contract compliance
- Identify and manage risks to protect the company
- Be a role model for our company culture, encouraging employee engagement and leadership development
- Lead the creation of programs that support career growth, skill-building, and long-term retention
Our take
Nowadays, despite the vast number of personal finance apps, many do not meet the evolving needs of consumers. Even when they are received well, they can struggle to make money - which is what led to the closing down of the popular Mint app by Intuit.
Following the downfall of Mint, Copilot recognised the market gap and embarked on a mission to provide users with a solution. Its offering focuses on analysis, allowing users to make informed financial decisions by distilling complex financial data into actionable insights.
Learning from the mistakes of free-to-use personal finance apps, Copilot charges a monthly fee, and impressively achieved profitability in 2023. With a solid foundation of venture capital, the company is primed to develop new features, including AI-driven insights and Android compatibility, further cementing its position as a leader in the personal finance app market.
