Who you are

- Minimum 5 years of solid software engineering experience

- Visual Design Skills: Proficiency in color theory, typography, and layout design
- Prototyping Tools: Familiarity with design software like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and InVision
- A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
What the job involves
- As a UX / UI Engineer you will work alongside our CTO and CPO to build best in class design architecture with a customer-first mindset
- This is our first dedicated hire for UX / UI so you’ll be responsible for everything from Wireframing, Prototyping, Visual & Interaction design through to testing
- You’ll need to quickly get up to speed and see the big picture
- Design UX / UI Infrastructure: as our first dedicated UX / UI hire you’ll be responsible for building the foundations for our design success
- Customer Onboarding: having our end customers as your top priority, you will design and implement a best in class customer onboarding journey; we’re moving to a PLG motion so ease of use and automation are key to our success
- As we grow the function, you’ll be involved in hiring, mentoring, and nurturing a culture that’s collaborative, ambitious, and laser-focused on results
- Wireframing and Prototyping: creating low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups to visualize user flows and interactions
- Visual Design: design UI elements like color schemes, typography, icons, and layouts to ensure aesthetic appeal and brand consistency working collaboratively with our Head of Marketing
- Interaction Design: define how users interact with digital interfaces, including transitions, animations, and micro-interactions
- Usability Testing: conduct user testing sessions to identify usability issues and iterate on designs based on feedback
- We’re very tech agnostic when it comes to the engineers we bring on board to the team. For us it’s all about having strong foundations and the ability to produce great code so don’t be deterred if you don’t have experience in the following:
- TypeScript: React.js (FE) / Node.js (BE)
- Java
- GoLang
- AWS Cloud Infrastructure
- Modulised Monolith

Businesses in the drinks industry encounter unique challenges, such as significant liquidity constraints (with funds tied up in stock and lengthy payment terms), an outdated and complex supply chain, and a highly regulated global market that creates friction and barriers to international sales. Ferovinum has developed an end-to-end digital platform that empowers businesses to fund, produce, procure, and sell in global wine and spirits markets.
The producers of spirits and wines are generally small to medium-sized businesses, and Ferovinum’s pitch is that its technology, which provides working capital and supply chain automation tools, will benefit from this rocket-boosted tech. It offers a comprehensive suite of foundational services, including capital funding, supply chain automation, international logistics, and access to global trade channels. The company’s founders certainly have experience in financial management, one having overseen structured commodity financing at the Macquarie Group and the other having a history of executive directing restructuring for investment banks.
With production and distribution tools at its disposal, Ferovinum offers predictive inventory management, seamless integration, and international logistics. Its one-size-fits-all technology has already benefitted some of the oldest scotch whiskey distilleries in Scotland on a pilot scheme, funded by a £100 million investment in Ferovinum in 2021. Though still in its early days, the company seems set to attract more clients as its technology evolves.
