Who you are
- You have professional experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- You have experience coding with Go or Python as well as with scripting languages like Bash
- You enjoy collaborating and sharing knowledge with engineers
- You are self-motivated and you like improving systems
- You have experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting
- You are fluent in English
- You have knowledge in IT Security (Big plus, not a must)
What the job involves
- As a Senior Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) at CLARK, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our cloud-native infrastructure
- You’ll work with a passionate team of engineers to ensure our platform is reliable, secure, and scalable
- We are cloud-first, automation-focused, and always evolving
- This role will be automating the provisioning, scaling, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure
- Making the best use of cloud services out there, by building on latest technologies & concepts
- Maintaining and developing our platform using Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, and more
- Helping us to keep our operations at CLARK secure, compliant and reliable
Our take
The insurance sector has been undergoing a period of radical digital transformation over recent years. Gone are the days of imperfect policy fits, time-consuming shopping, and lengthy exchanges with dubious brokers. A wave of startups are making insurance faster, easier, and more on-demand than ever, and the newly minted Unicorn app CLARK is proving to be a major player.
Operating in Germany and Austria, the CLARK app allows insurance customers to manage and monitor all their contracts from a single hub. It works like an independent insurance advisor, keeping users abreast of expiry dates, policy changes, and recommending policy improvements by scanning different rates from over 180 insurers.
The German insurtech market is especially strong relative to its European counterparts, thanks to impressive international investment, careful government regulation, and a fertile, collaborative ecosystem. This has meant, however, that the market has reached a matured period of slower growth and consolidation. This means CLARK has to keep pace with similarly commanding startups like Wefox and INZMO, maintaining its momentum through acquisitions of smaller companies such as SimpleInsurance Broker.
