- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach
- Prior customer service experience in an office setting is preferred
- A degree or equivalent work experience is desired
- Phone call/live chat experience preferred
- Knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets is desirable
- A passion for technology and a desire to become an expert in our product
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and resilience in handling challenging situations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure to meet customer needs

What the job involves
- We’re looking for customer support interns on a full-time, 3-month contract to join us between November and February. Our busiest season!
- Over three months, you’ll build both your knowledge of our online tax preparation service, your own knowledge of tax and the growing world of UK tech
- Customer Support: Assist customers with product information, status updates on existing tax returns, tax inquiries, and technical support, ensuring a positive and helpful experience
- Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot customer issues, providing prompt and effective solutions to meet their needs
- Customer Engagement: Proactively engage with customers to gather feedback, address concerns, and promote loyalty to our brand
- Accountant Management: Engage with our accountant partners to collect feedback, handle partnership queries, and clarify services
- Product & Tax Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our products and services to provide valuable insights to customers
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our product and engineering teams to raise technical issues, ensuring a seamless customer journey
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards in all customer interactions, adhering to company policies and procedures
- Data insights: Track and analyse key stats to help produce monthly and quarterly performance reports

TaxScouts believes that this is completely unnecessary - the company combines automation and accountants to offer personalised online tax preparation at a fraction of the normal cost.
Combining automation with a network of human accountants, TaxScouts’ service is designed to support customers through their annual tax filing preparation and submission. The idea is that all of the admin is captured digitally and packaged up ready for an assigned accountant to check.
Having been successful with its service to navigate the UK tax system, the company has expanded into its first market outside the UK - Spain. The company's Spain operations grew 3x faster than its London operations within the first 12 months. Its success has led to its acquisition by German tax solutions provider Taxfix.
