Who you are
- Minimum of 10+ years of enterprise selling experience in large global accounts
- 10+ Years experience in identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology deals
- 5+ years of experience creating long term transformational account strategies to drive enterprise-wide adoption of new technologies and applying solution-level design thinking to deliver success for global customers
- 7+ years of demonstrated success in driving long term engagements with their company’s largest accounts (F100 customers) and aligning with their CEO and or Board of Directors
- A BA or BS degree in computer science, engineering, business, marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
- MBA/Technical Undergraduate/Master’s Degree
Desirable
- Experience and familiarity with the AWS platform, products, solutions and capabilities
- An evangelist of the cloud era with deep experience in the media and entertainment industry
- Familiarity negotiating deals across varying cultures in a truly global business
- Understanding of digital transformation drivers, software companies migration to SaaS and recurring revenue models, and the technology ecosystem that supports them
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive goals to completion
What the job involves
- The Global Account Manager is responsible for teaming with the customer’s IT Organization to build strategic relationships across the account, articulating a clear vision and generating enthusiasm, while impacting all business groups
- The rep is responsible for selling at the most strategic level within the account and implementing a broad strategy for earning customer acceptance and service implementation
- The rep will work with all appropriate AWS resources (Executives, Solution Architects, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, Support, Service teams and Professional Services) to support customer interests
- This includes dotted line responsibility for downstream sales and technical resources that may be geographically distributed
- Build strategic relationships within the account, articulating a clear vision and generating enthusiasm, while impacting all business groups
- Selling at the most strategic level within the account and implementing a broad strategy for earning customer acceptance and service implementation
- Work with all appropriate AWS resources (Executives, Solution Architects, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, Support, Service teams and Professional Services) to support customer interests
- This individual will need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, sales teams, partner development teams, be results driven with experience in sales, channel, or business development in infrastructure or cloud services
- Create/Manage a sales funnel of opportunities from start-to-finish and track in Salesforce.com
- Educate customers on AWS products/services & evangelize key wins within Fin Serv segment
- Collaborate with GAM, SA, SDM on Account Planning & Strategy, and execution of strategic targets
- Break into new lines of business groups within the defined Global Fin Serv Account
- Work in a team environment with multiple Global Account Managers, Solution Architects, and Technical Account Managers
- Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption
- Manage response & delegation of inbound sales leads
- Evangelize customer success stories
- Track & measure customer engagement to improve sales messaging
- Create a high-level network for events and follow-up, working closely with Marketing resources

Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.
More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.
Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
