Role
Who you are
- You are the Swiss army knife of backend software development and technical execution, with the ability to break down product requirements into implementable technical features
- 5+ years of software development experience in backend technologies and in recent years working with Python and FastAPI
- Great experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with web-scraping technologies and data architecture
- Familiar with principles of APIs, stateful web (single page) applications, developer platforms (Git, Heroku)
- Experience designing data persistence and caching concepts using SQL and NoSQL DBMS (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- A solid understanding of how to design, develop, test, and monitor production-ready data-intensive systems
- Entrepreneurial / startup experience, willing to learn and help build a tech stack from scratch
- Strong knowledge of the agile software development lifecycle and continuous integration
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a versatile Backend Engineer to join our team!
- Work in collaboration with product and design to use cutting-edge and custom technologies to imagine, build and launch a breakthrough product that disrupts the market
- Implement new features in a highly collaborative environment with product managers, customer strategists and fellow engineers
- Create responsive, mobile friendly and beautiful web applications
- Implement software engineering best practices (e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc.) enabling the product and team to scale
- Build APIs, designing data models, maintaining backend code, and scaling production systems

Karla is headed up by a former BCG partner, and one of Scorable's founding team. This is part of the reason that the startup has gained impressive momentum among customers and backers alike. Their app taps into growing demand among consumers for increased communication and efficiency throughout the delivery process.
The company faces competition from the likes of Parcello and Parcellab. Karla hopes to differentiate itself by connecting their software directly to online shops and leveraging existing delivery operators and couriers. This will be important if the company wants to draw customers away from its more established rivals.
