Role
Who you are
- You have a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics, Robotics or related
- You have 2-5 years of experience in a product-led organization, ideally as a Product Analyst or Product Owner
- You have strong analytical and conceptual skills and the mindset of having data & tech at the core of everything you do
- You're deeply passionate about shipping great products with great user experiences
- You have solid interpersonal and collaborative skills to interact with different stakeholders
- You hold an EU working permit or citizenship

- Picnic's tech team has grown impressively every year
- We launch new teams every ~12-18 months to make sure we keep the focus on building high quality products
- Our Product Owners therefore grow in tandem with Picnic: you will be part of increasingly growing teams in people, numbers and complexity
- The role has an important analytical part which centers around analyzing the data of both end-users and our systems
- With the insights you develop, you steer the direction of our tech products that we build in-house (e.g.Picnic App, Warehouse Systems, Customer Service etc.)
- Our approach: We don't have a specific Product Owner role open at the moment

- Combine user research and data analysis to gain a deep understanding of the needs and wants of our customers and/or employees, and identify areas of improvement
- Define and maintain the product roadmap in alignment with business stakeholders and our other product teams
- Build and support a highly effective team in a rapidly growing organization, together with your technical counterpart
- Foster an environment in which your team can excel and get the product to the next level
Our take
Picnic is one of Europe's largest online supermarkets, quickly growing into a household name with its simple, yet innovative app and green business model. Thanks to its ‘own the supply chain’ model and daily delivery routes (as opposed to on-demand delivery), the company is able to run a low-cost business targeted at the mass market, rather than premium buyers.
One of the major factors in the company’s rampant growth since 2015 is its capacity for free delivery, enabled by these daily delivery routes. The company's fleet has grown from 4 vans to more than 1,000 electric vehicles, cutting down on carbon emissions as it serves its hundreds of thousands of users.
The company's impressive funding - which has been heavily backed by the likes of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the sum of 1.4 billion euros in funding - has enabled Picnic to expand beyond The Netherlands into Germany, France, and further afield. Picnic is well set to see continued growth and expansion as it further disrupts the grocery delivery market.
