What the job involves

We're looking for a UX Writer to shape the voice of our products and create intuitive, user-centered experiences across our platform. You'll partner closely with product designers, engineers, and go-to-market teams to ensure every interaction is clear, consistent, and thoughtfully crafted
This is a highly cross-functional role with broad ownership and visibility across the company. You'll help simplify complex financial concepts, establish messaging standards, and influence the product experience for a growing user base. As a UX Writer, you'll have the opportunity to define our content strategy, build scalable processes, and make a lasting impact on both our product and brand
Own copy across all product surfaces, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and user-focused
Collaborate with product designers to optimize user flows and improve the overall product experience
Review product mockups and prototypes, providing copy recommendations and supporting design-to-engineering handoffs
Partner with engineering teams to develop intuitive language for complex technical concepts and workflows
Work closely with product and go-to-market teams to ensure product messaging aligns drives success of product
Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, and copywriting standards
Support content design initiatives
Serve as the internal subject matter expert on UX writing and content strategy
Identify opportunities to improve product usability through thoughtful language and content design

Our take

Despite the exponential growth of data within fintech, the majority of financial data providers continue to provide inconvenient services, with high licensing fees, slow infrastructure, and difficult onboarding processes. Furthermore, taking a new dataset to production requires high cost commitment and a large lead time, which can be difficult to manage.

Databento aims to democratise the financial industry and transform the way businesses use data platforms. It sets itself apart by eliminating all expensive up-front costs so that businesses only pay for market data as and when they use it. In doing so, they fit any company's budget and needs, no matter the size of the business.

2024's Series A funding round is being used by Databento to fuel its product enhancements such as a data history extension and a new flexible pricing plan. It is also putting the foundations in place to expand its European marketplace share.
