Who you are

- 8+ years of relevant sales experience
- Fluency in French, Spanish or Italian

What the job involves
- As a Sales Manager at Stripe, you’ll play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth in Southern Europe through new customer acquisition
- You'll lead and coach high-performing account executives, helping them deliver on ambitious targets, as well as roll up your sleeves to work directly with users and prospects
- Recruit, develop and lead a team of sales professionals, with a particular focus on the SMB segment in Southern Europe
- Develop the long-term vision and strategy for the team and manage day-to-day operations, with a focus on performance against key sales metrics
- Be accountable for new client acquisition
- Driving deal strategy and execution including strong pipeline development, opportunity management, and forecasting
- Coach and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills through all facets of the sales cycle
- Play a personal and direct role in building and maintaining enduring customer relationships, up to C-level
- Inspire, motivate and enable personal and career development of team members, both to promote career growth and to increase impact for Stripe
- Collaborating closely with key stakeholders across Sales, Product/Connect, Sales Ops, S&O, Marketing, GTM Partnerships, and others
- Participate in industry events to help support positive market awareness
Our take
Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payments option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.
More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.
To further expand its position, the company is looking to triple its presence in Ireland, and extend its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil and India. Its latest venture, coming atop significant new funds, is to partner with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that will monetize OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhance Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forwards with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
