Who you are

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure automation, application monitoring, and security patching
3+ years of experience with Linux administration, Bash scripting, and Python development
Strong understanding of infrastructure monitoring, logging, and observability tools
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS,) and cloud-based observability solutions
Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Logz.io
Familiarity with Apache Airflow, particularly in migrating CRON jobs to ETL workflows
Understanding of security patching procedures and best practices
Ability to work 2 AM ET Scheduled Sunday mornings for scheduled maintenance and patching

What the job involves

We are seeking an Infrastructure & Application Observability Engineer to join our team, responsible for enhancing system monitoring, automation, and security across our cloud-based infrastructure
This role requires expertise in Bash scripting, Python development, and Linux systems administration, along with hands-on experience in observability, monitoring, and cloud environments
They will also be responsible for migrating CRON jobs to Apache Airflow DAGs and setting up dashboards for both infrastructure and application observability
Develop Bash scripts and Python automation for system maintenance, monitoring, and workflow orchestration
Set up infrastructure and application observability dashboards to monitor system health, performance, and availability
Implement monitoring solutions for both infrastructure and applications, integrating with tools such as Datadog, Checkly and Logz.io
Migrate existing CRON jobs to DAGS in Apache Airflow for improved scheduling and orchestration
Install security patches during designated Sunday maintenance windows, ensuring compliance with security best practices
Maintain and optimize Linux-based systems, ensuring stability, performance, and security
Work within cloud environments (AWS), leveraging cloud-native monitoring and automation tools
Collaborate with IT, security, and development teams to enhance observability, automate workflows, and improve system reliability
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and system failures, as well as monitor gaps, ensuring rapid issue resolution
