Who you are
- You’re a seasoned backend or fullstack builder
- You have 6+ years of experience designing, developing and maintaining complex mission critical systems
- You’re comfortable writing backend services (Python or Node
- Js ideal), and you’re not afraid to go deep into API design, database modeling, or CI/CD pipelines
- If you’re fullstack, you’re not afraid of diving into frontend challenges and understand typescript/react libraries to drive enterprise frontend performance
- You understand and leverage AI tooling
- You know how to use AI tools to accelerate your own development process (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor), and you also get excited about building systems that enable others to use AI effectively
- You’ve worked with or implemented components like model context protocol or agent frameworks
- You know even-driven systems and have strong platform thinking
- You’ve built scalable tools that help other teams move faster and simpler
- You’re familiar with systems like Kafka, SQS, and Fastify, and you’ve worked with observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Graylog
- You lead with customer empathy and curiosity
- You continuously seek context, ask great questions, and stay oriented to the bigger picture to meet the needs of customers to help them solve problems that matter to them
- You bias toward action, especially when next steps aren’t obvious
- You create structure, clarity, and momentum for the team surrounding your projects

- To do this, Zapier is expanding its Enterprise zone and seeking several highly motivated Senior Backend and Sr
- Backend leaning Full Stack Engineers
- We are looking for experts passionate about solving complex problems and delivering new value to customers, driving innovation in workflow management, and changing the future of automation use for some of the largest companies in industry
- The Enterprise zone is made up of several teams
- We’re currently hiring several Backend or Back-leaning Fullstack engineers for 4 of them which are looking for similar skills
- The teams are:
- Enterprise Experience
- Enterprise Response
- Asset Management
- Observability Platform
- The Enterprise Experience team is tasked with pioneering new approaches for enterprise account/tool management rather than simply refining existing ones. Our foundational projects include:
- Developing the first user flows specifically for enterprise administrators and builders
- Establishing a central hub for Account Admins to oversee and manage their accounts
- Empowering Account Admins with expanded data insights and controls across all current and future product teams
- Significantly improving the rest of our product's frontend to exceed current industry standards for enterprise-grade software
- Creating essential features like:
- Hierarchical account management
- Cross-organizational visibility into usage and assets
- User management, provisioning, and role assignments
- The Enterprise Response team is crucial for maintaining the resilience and reliability of our systems, particularly during critical periods, mostly for our largest customers
- This team innovates in high-demand customer areas and delivers highly requested core features that span multiple teams and organizational boundaries
- This team touches every part of the stack and plays a critical role in ensuring our biggest customers get fast, dependable service
- Lead responses to critical incidents and customer-impacting events
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and support to solve urgent problems
- Build internal tools and improve core product features based on real-world, customer feedback
- Build a new extensible platform for account and organization-level settings, applying declarative controls, VPC connections to on-prem data, and instrumenting account-wide AI guardrail controls
- Work across the org, owning little but driving a lot, and directly interacting with stakeholders and customers
- The Asset Management team is responsible for building and scaling the systems that make every Zapier asset, across products and workspaces, discoverable, governable, and portable
- You will be responsible for architecting and deepening enterprise-grade Platform APIs to manage assets across multiple products, ensuring consistency, reliability, and performance at scale for all of our customers
- Design and implement scalable backend architecture and APIs for asset cataloguing, ownership, and security
- Build intuitive, unified interfaces for organizing, transferring, and governing assets across accounts and products
- Embed AI technology into core product experiences to proactively monitor and suggest optimizations to account management
- Drive technical alignment with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization
- Deliver fast-paced solutions and POCs, prioritizing impact over deep polish, while balancing short-term execution with long-term technical vision
- Tackle challenges in data standards, compliance automation, and cross-product integrations
- This team is central to Zapier’s multi-product strategy, unlocking faster product onboarding, reducing manual support burden, and delivering key enterprise capabilities
- The Enterprise Observability Platform team builds and maintains the core systems that support our Enterprise customers. We’re not following an existing playbook, we’re writing it. Here, you will help build a strong observability platform that connects and supports Zapier’s Enterprise products
- Building scalable platforms like Notifications, Audit Logs, and Search to give customers better visibility, control, and access across Zapier
- Supporting key use cases such as compliance, error tracking, and transactional alerts through reliable communication systems
- Creating and improving observability features like SLOs, alerts, and dashboards to help Zapier grow
- Strengthening core systems as we expand to serve larger and more complex customers
- Leading important projects from start to finish — using AI to speed up development and improve the customer experience, while working closely with your team
- All of these roles are instrumental in ensuring Zapier can deliver on their upmarket strategy and mission. They’ll have direct impact in driving higher company ARR. Our take
Even before remote working became the "in thing", freelancers, small business owners, and large organisations have found themselves needing more and more software platforms to serve their operational needs. As people used more software services, Zapier founders saw the need to connect the actions between these software and save everyone some time.
Zapier is the largest integration and automation tool for businesses. Since its founding, Zapier has grown its suite of automation offerings across almost every mainstream software service. The company is one of the most successful to come out of Y Combinator and has also been a pioneer of remote working.
Zapier has so far been able to capitalise heavily on its advantage as one of the first entrants and has had very little actual competition. Software services aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and organisations are only going to need more of them. This puts Zapier in a strong position for growth, but also opens up room for bolder companies to get in on the action. Companies like Airtable and Integromat are already preying on more niche segments of Zapier's market share.
