Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years’ experience building high-performing software applications in an enterprise or SaaS environment
- Experience implementing secure, performant, and accessible web applications using full-stack TypeScript (Node.js, React, and component library scaffolding)
- Strong cloud experience (AWS preferred) and a deep understanding of modern DevOps practices
- Solid understanding of automated testing, continuous integration, and delivery pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Familiarity with regulated environments (GDPR, HIPAA) and data-sensitive design is highly desirable
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as computer vision, generative AI, and advanced analytics is highly desirable
What the job involves
- As Proximie continues its global expansion, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our UK engineering team
- Reporting to a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and scaling the next generation of Proximie’s products
- You’ll collaborate closely with Customer Success, Product, and Design to turn complex requirements into elegant, maintainable, and scalable software solutions used in operating rooms worldwide
- We’re looking for a pragmatic engineer - someone comfortable moving between architecture and hands-on coding, mentoring others, and experimenting with emerging technologies to push boundaries responsibly
- Design and build full-stack features and systems that deliver measurable value to hospitals, health systems, clinicians and patients
- Work closely with Product, Design, and other cross-functional teams to turn complex requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that deliver a seamless user experience through iterative delivery
- Drive automated testing, CI/CD, and zero-downtime deployment practices across distributed systems.Contribute to the evolution of Proximie’s cloud architecture and engineering standards
- Contribute to observability efforts (monitoring, metrics, tracing) to ensure reliability in production
- Research, prototype, and evaluate emerging technologies such as computer vision, generative AI, and advanced telemetry
- Support and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, learning, and ownership
