Role
Who you are
- At least six years of total experience, with recent hands-on experience writing production-level code (Python is preferred / Java / C++ / Go)
- Experience in a cloud platform such as AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure
- Expertise in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL
- Experience driving medium to large projects from inception to completion
- Great written and verbal communication skills. We work with people across time zones and diverse backgrounds, so you need to be able to communicate both effectively and inclusively
- Experience working on data pipelines and an understanding of the relevant nonfunctional requirements
- You thrive off of supporting your peers and teammates; no job is too small for you
- You have a passion for developer productivity, great documentation, and an understanding of how to build a strong engineering culture
- You take pride in driving projects from ideation to completion, sometimes requiring partnership with stakeholder teams to carefully roll out changes
- You have a knack for explaining technical processes concisely (even to non-engineers), and work well with cross-functional internal teams
- You seek out feedback from your users and empathetically advocate for them throughout the development process
- You care about code quality and you know what it means to ship robust, production code

What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer- 2, you will develop core features of our healthcare platform
- The Stellar Engineering Team offers an experienced and mature engineering culture, product development best practices, and an environment where every engineer impacts the Company’s success

- On the Autoprogression team, we’re focused on creating a seamless and frictionless experience for providers working in the Stellar application
- This includes ingesting and transforming data so that providers trust our application as an up-to-date source of truth, evolving the frontend user experience to be more intuitive and insightful, and everything in between
- Own the building and delivery of large parts of our core product according to business needs
- Write clear and concise production code for the Stellar Health Platform
- Work on mission-critical data pipelines, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and flexible to handle various customer and internal data
- Deliver new features by collaborating regularly with our product managers
- Lead initiatives on the team backlog, setting technical direction and staging work into well-defined milestones
- Set consistent standards for code; testing and fixing bugs throughout the process
- Ensure our users are presented with timely and accurate information that helps them do their job
- Evolve the architecture to improve operational efficiency and support business growth
- Actively contribute to Stellar’s Engineering Culture and ensure engineers are writing clear and concise production code for the Stellar Health Platform
- Provide effective and constructive feedback by reviewing others’ work
- Set consistent standards via code and design reviews, as well as your own technical contributions
Our take
A problem in healthcare is little thought is given to the doctors and staff who coordinate all of the daily patient workflow, such as historical claims, pharmacy requests, lab work, testing and billing. Stellar Health aims to drastically reduce these 'chores' through a cloud-based platform on which primary care providers can offer value-based care through real-time information updates about patients.
The point-of-care workflow platform also strives to close the incentive gap between payors and care providers by helping practitioners earn more revenue for keeping patients healthy, rather than simply charging for procedures and treatments. While Stellar Health faces stiff competition from major players such as Siemens Healthcare and AthenaHealth, it has already made great ground in the market with over 1.1M patients across 37 states.
The company has secured significant investment from Primary Venture Partners and Point 72. This funding and its growing revenue are being put towards further scaling its operations and accelerating its product development. Operating in a rapidly growing industry which reached a value of over $4 billion in 2025, Stellar Health is in a good position for future growth and success.
