Who you are
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years’ experience in sales, of which 2 years in the financial industry
- Decides on and pursues the best course of action to deliver results following in-depth analysis of relevant issues and conflicting factors and after assessing foreseeable risks; follows through to ensure delivery and closure or escalates as needed

What the job involves
- In line with the Commercial strategy/Operating/Regional plans to develop and manage medium sized/complex infrastructures/parts of sales programmes/initiatives/long term relationships with medium sized accounts to meet customer requirements and to achieve targeted sales, revenue growth and traffic development
- Identify customer needs / market opportunities and achieve business growth by building and maintaining long term customer relationships with primarily medium accounts and/or developing market infrastructures and/or implementing initiatives of medium size/complexity
- Develop plans for medium sales account / infrastructure development / initiatives to achieve targeted sales objectives and generate revenue in an optimal, cost-beneficial way
- Implement plans towards assigned medium customers/market infrastructure by coordinating and tracking all activities
- Assist in the implementation of larger plans/projects/programmes
- Act as a single point of contact for medium-sized clients and/or support as a center of expertise on a specific area/initiative
- Represent SWIFT and promote products and services to grow our business by participating to regional fairs and forums and meetings
- Liaise with other divisions/departments, commercial team managers and members to provide a coordinated service and integrated solutions to assigned customers
- Feedback internally on market intelligence, customer feedback, product issues and other relevant information
- Acquire and maintain skills and knowledge
- Share knowledge about customers, products markets, and methodology
Our take
SWIFT was founded in 1973 to serve as the bedrock of the international payments system. A cooperative society which is owned by its member financial institutions, it is a vital piece of the global financial infrastructure, securely transmitting payment instructions between over 11,000 institutions in almost every country. SWIFT handles half of all international transactions, on average 40 million every day.
SWIFT's only direct competition in the traditional cross-border payments sector are bodies such as China's CIPS and Russia's SFMS. Yet, lacking the trust and membership of SWIFT these are unlikely to make serious inroads in the international payments sector.
In recent years the competitive landscape for international transfers has been disrupted by the large-scale uptake of cryptocurrency. SWIFT has not been immune, facing competition from high-speed blockchain payment networks such as Ripple. However SWIFT has moved quickly to adapt, introducing SWIFT Global Payments Innovation (gpi) to increase the speed of transactions to nearly that of its competitors but with greatly enhanced visibility. It is also researching blockchain technologies, partnering with companies like Chainlink to trial its own cross-chain protocols that will allow it to continue to thrive in the new financial landscape.
