Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of professional product design experience
- A strong portfolio that showcases relevant projects for which you were directly responsible, highlights your design sensibilities, and explains your design process
- Strong consensus-building, persuasion, and presentation skills
- Proven experience running user research, synthesizing findings, and iterating on the basis of learnings
- Experience working with broadly defined mandates to prioritize your work and deliver high-quality design within tight deadlines
Desirable
- Comfortable working in a lean, small company environment
- Experience with data visualization and an ability to integrate quantitative and qualitative data into your work
- Experience building design libraries in Figma
- Experience with accessible design or a demonstrated interest in developing baseline skills in accessibility
- Professional experience with and/or a passion for grid-edge technologies
What the job involves
- The Product Design team designs user experiences for the whole EnergyHub product line, on both desktop and mobile, B2B and B2C surfaces
- We’re looking to hire a Senior Product Designer to help us build products that harness the power of technology without demanding the limelight. We strive for design that is powerful, insightful, trustworthy, and elegant
- Lead the design process for assigned projects through discovery, scoping, ideation, definition, and delivery
- Work closely and effectively with cross-functional partners in product management, product marketing, brand marketing, and engineering
- Design high quality user experiences on desktop and mobile, for both enterprise and consumer customers
- Define and run formative and evaluative user research studies
- Other duties as assigned
Our take
Power grids are becoming increasingly complicated due to the increased usage of distributed energy resources (DER) in homes such as electric vehicles, home batteries, and thermostats. This complexity arises from the fragmented nature of DER providers and their lack of integration with management systems, making it difficult for renewable energy and other advanced grid services to operate reliably.
EnergyHub provides a DER management system that facilitates the management of DERs at scale, helping to provide the digital infrastructure for flexible electricity demand, voltage and frequency regulation and real-time analytics. It also provides end-to-end support for the acquisition, enrollment, and aggregation of customer-owned DERs.
Whilst the DER industry faces significant challenges in integrating into existing power grids, EnergyHub is providing the infrastructural and data flexibility required to future-proof the reliability of power networks. The company partners with major DER providers - Siemens, Nest and Tesla to name a few - and provides the technical support required for them to meet their long-term strategic goals and work towards a renewable future.
