Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- CS Degree preferred
- 3-4+ years industry experience
- Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
- Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), TypeScript / Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java
- Experience with cloud technologies on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including compute (server and serverless), storage, networking, and security
- Experience in databases and SQL preferably with PostgreSQL or DynamoDB
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other infrastructure technology
- Experience with React and TypeScript desired
- Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportability
- Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development
- Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments
- Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools
What the job involves
- As a Software Engineer II focused on Cloud technologies, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team
- Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input

In doing so, it allows security and IT teams access to accurate information on the state of endpoints, helping it to realise new levels of business resilience.
Tanium added a former US Defence Secretary to its Board in 2021. A collaboration with Salesforce provided a platform that supports IT service management, remote monitoring and management, and cybersecurity capabilities. In the same year, the appointment of CFO Mark Levine could signal an IPO in the near future.
