What the job involves
- Our Business Development team works as a fulcrum between marketing and sales, ensuring that we’re educating and generating awareness with our highest value prospects
- As the Business Development Manager, you will lead a team that often serves as the initial, and sometimes the second, point of contact for many of our clients
- Your team plays a pivotal role in generating sales demand and building pipeline revenue through both inbound and outbound lead development and appointment setting
- They are tasked with becoming experts in the Life Sciences industry as well as proficient in our SaaS product offerings
- Formulate quarterly sales development representative (SDR) plans tailored by account, region, and representative to optimize our outreach
- Design and execute monthly SDR campaigns, complete with targeted messaging and specific goals, in coordination with our marketing efforts
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Sales teams to leverage marketing budgets effectively, including events and content-driven campaigns, to achieve company-wide objectives
- Train and manage the business development team on core messaging, ideal customer profiles (ICPs), and value-based selling to enhance their performance and expertise
- Support your team in constructing a predictable results pipeline, continually refining prospect outreach tactics and messaging to increase effectiveness
- Assist your team in driving top-of-funnel pipeline growth by strategically engaging the right prospects at key companies, increasing awareness and interest in H1
- Maintain a comprehensive dashboard to monitor throughput, outreach effectiveness, conversion rates, and other critical metrics to assess success and identify areas needing adjustment
- Regularly provide performance feedback, fostering an environment of continual improvement and professional growth

Contrary to an increased emphasis on data privacy globally, within the healthcare industry governments are pushing for more data transparency. Additionally, the increasing costs and difficulty of drug discovery requires healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical companies to be able to quickly connect to professionals and thought leaders with specific credentials or research history. H1 addresses these needs by allowing life sciences companies, hospitals, and healthcare systems to locate the professionals they need.
H1 is the world’s largest healthcare database. It acts a bit like LinkedIn for healthcare professionals, and has already built a network of more than 9 million users. It has also built a corporate client base of 250 enterprises which is able to access its data which spans more than 250 million patients and over 10 billion health care claims.
The company graduated from Y Combinator's accelerator program in January 2020 and capped off a successful year by closing a Series B funding round that December. In 2021, H1 worked to further expand the company into Europe and Asia. Following a successful 2022 Series C round the company is focusing on building out its data network and hiring additional talent.
