Who you are
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of IT management experience
- 4+ years of ServiceDesk management experience
- 3+ years of experience managing technical teams such as Network Engineers, System Admins, Security Engineers, and IT Architects
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing 4+ direct reports, including staff, contractors, and vendors
- Fast-Paced Environment Experience: Experience working in fast-growing environments or manufacturing is a plus
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, macOS (MBP), and serverless SaaS environments
- Experience in vendor management and contract lifecycle management
- Familiarity with Atlassian, OKTA, and ERP systems
- Project Management: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and effectively oversee change control processes
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Team-Oriented: Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and knows when to ask for help
- This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required
What the job involves
- As IT Manager at Crusoe Industries, you will lead day-to-day IT operations across multiple regions and ensure smooth functioning of all Crusoe facilities
- This includes providing end-user support, making key technical decisions, and being the escalation point for the ServiceDesk
- You will also collaborate with Corporate IT teams to enforce policies, manage vendor relationships, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to Crusoe Industries
- Hands-On IT Leadership: Take an active role in troubleshooting, supporting end-users, and leading the implementation of IT projects
- ServiceDesk & Project Management: Be an advocate for the ServiceDesk ticketing system and follow Jira Sprint best practices for project execution
- Tech-Stack Decision Making: Oversee all Crusoe Industries-specific tech decisions in coordination with Corporate IT Leadership, ensuring alignment with company-wide IT standards
- Develop SOPs and Runbooks: Create and continuously improve SOPs and runbooks to guide the IT team in their day-to-day operations
- Platform Expertise: Become proficient in supporting Crusoe’s key platforms, including OKTA, Google Workspace, and Atlassian
- Device Management: Work with the ServiceDesk to troubleshoot and manage macOS laptops and Windows CAD workstations
- Cybersecurity Ambassador: Maintain a security-first mindset and act as the local ambassador for Cybersecurity by following corporate governance guidelines and assisting with security audits
- Team Collaboration: Maintain close communication with Corporate IT Leadership, business units, and IT teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely response to business needs
- Asset and Vendor Management: Assist in managing IT assets, procurement, and vendor relationships in collaboration with the IT Asset Manager
- ITIL Practices: Employ ITIL best practices to improve IT service delivery
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Manage and mentor CI IT staff, ensuring full coverage and filling in when needed as the last line of defense

Our take
Crusoe is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing the digital age: the enormous energy demand of data centres and AI infrastructure. As AI models grow more powerful, they require immense computing power (and therefor electricity) to train and operate. This surge in energy use has put some pressure on power grids, driven up costs, and raised environmental concerns. Crusoe is on a mission to make this process more sustainable by finding smarter, cleaner, and more efficient ways to power the data centres that drive modern computing.
The company started out by putting wasted energy to work. Originally known as Crusoe Energy, it captured natural gas that would otherwise be burned off ("flared") at remote oil sites and used it to power modular data centres. Today, Crusoe has evolved into a major player in AI infrastructure, designing and operating large-scale data centres near renewable or stranded energy sources. It's now one of a handful of "neocloud" companies (next-generation cloud providers focused on flexible, efficient computing for AI workloads). And its facilities are helping tech giants like OpenAI handle the massive computing requirements of training advanced AI models.
Recently, Crusoe has attracted some huge investor attention, tripling its valuation to over $10B and raising $1.4B in its latest funding round. It's building OpenAI's first major US data centre campus and even experimenting with bold new frontiers. In partnership with Starcloud, Crusoe plans to deploy the world's first space-based cloud computing infrastructure, powered by solar energy and orbiting the Earth by 2027. If successful, this could redefine how and where computing happens, opening up a cleaner, virtually limitless source of energy for AI's next generation.
