Who you are

Studying for a degree in a technical field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, etc
Anticipated graduation date in December 2023 or May 2024
SQL experience and a basic knowledge of relational databases
Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with the libraries of pandas, numpy, scikit-learn. Nice-to-have knowledge of pytorch and tensorflow
Knowledge of classic ML algorithms such as regression, SVM, random forests, boosted models, neural networks, etc
Previous experience with data science projects
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and relentless follow through

What the job involves

Be an active participant of the data science team and learn about the business areas where data science and machine learning are used
Work with key stakeholders to provide new opportunities where data science can be leveraged
Conducting exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover hidden patterns and relationships in data
Train and Deploy machine learning models using amazon sagemaker
Analyze the output of machine learning models to translate predictions into actionable insights for the business
Learn the complex Angi ecosystem
Develop your technical skills – particularly in Python, R, Amazon Sagemaker, and Snowflake
Internship runs from June 12 – August 18 (10 weeks)

Angi is a result of the 2017 merger of popular local services review platform Angie’s List, and prescreened contractor sourcing platform HomeAdvisor. The resulting platform provides a digital marketplace for homeowners to browse and secure home services, projects, and contractors.

Angi is performing particularly well in North America and has helped over 150 million homeowners. Certainly, the company has embarked on what should prove a majorly lucrative partnership with Walmart over coming years. Angi services will be marketed and available at Walmart both online and offline, giving the company a shot at netting some of Walmart’s 220 million global customers.

What's more, Angi's membership option attracts a huge number of subscribers. This has drawn more activity to the site, with members returning three times more to complete additional requests compared to non-members. This launch as well as the partnership with Walmart has propelled Angi firmly down the path of further expansion.
