Role
Who you are
- You're a proactive Engineer who enjoys collaborating with all areas of the business and our customers directly
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience as a Developer
- Passionate about solving complex problems in a team of brilliant people
- A very good understanding of Angular and experience improving performance in Angular applications
- Good working knowledge of RxJS
- Experience with unit testing front end applications using jest or jasmine
- It would be advantageous if you have previous experience working with Google Cloud Platform / Firestore or other NoSQL databases
- A keen focus on quality, and personal ownership of the work that you do
- Solid understanding of git
- This is a full time role for 40 contracted hours per week
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Software Developer to work closely with our users and prospects, understand their challenges, and ship things quickly to test & learn
- You will develop new features quickly, so we can push them to our users, get feedback, and understand what we need to build next
- As we begin to build our Engineering team, you will shape the way the early platform is developed
- You will work directly with our other Engineers and Founders to ensure you're developing professionally, as well as happy, motivated, and understand the wider business & health context that we are working in
- Over the next 12 months you will:
- Contribute to Product strategy
- Design and build the platform that will allow our clients to look after their patients
- Interact directly with the users you are building for, to understand their challenges and deliver what they need

Isla wants to empower healthcare professionals by allowing them to use visual data—photos and videos of patients—by securely recording this data to a medical professional's smartphone.
The ambitious startup has partnered with the Central London Community Healthcare Trust and the NHS, successfully supporting various NHS trusts on their digitisation journey. Isla will focus on leveraging visual data to improve end-of-life care and dermatology services. Additionally, the company has added an Impact page to its website, showcasing evidence of Isla's benefits.
Now that a case can be made for visual health data flows being helpful, the company's platform could see even wider adoption. Once sufficiently high-quality data sets have been collected, Isla can use the visual data, provided with patient consent, to inform medical practice more generally.
The next few years at Isla should be interesting as the company is looking to replicate the operation of its product across several hospitals and healthcare facilities. Isla's end game is to be fully integrated into all incumbent Patient Administration Systems to make the platform seamless for clinicians.
